Tharparkar (Dhatki language, Dhatki/ sd, ٿرپارڪر, ur, ), also known as Thar, is a district in Sindh province in Pakistan headquartered at Mithi. Before Indian independence it was known as the Thar and Parkar district. The district is the largest in Sindh, and has the largest Hindus, Hindu population in Pakistan. It has the lowest List of Pakistani Districts by Human Development Index, Human Development Index rating of all the districts in Sindh. Currently the Sindh government is planning to divide the Tharparkar district into Tharparkar and Chhachro district. History The name Tharparkar originates from a portmanteau of the words Thar (referring to the Thar Desert), and parkar (meaning "to cross over"). Dhatki (धाटकी; ڍاٽڪي), also known as Dhatti (धाटी; ڍاٽي) or Thari (थारी; ٿَري), is one of the Rajasthani languages of the Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-European language family. Dhatki is closely related to Sindhi and Marwari both. Speakers Dhatki/Dhati has two major dialects Jaisalmeri and the other one spoken in tharparker, Jaisalmeri is spoken in western parts of Jaisalmer and Barmer districts & Southern part of Jalore district of Rajasthan, India and other in eastern parts of Sindh, Pakistan. Some Dhatki-speaking communities migrated to India in 1947 after the independence and continued to do so in small numbers after that date, but the great majority of Dhatki speakers still reside in Pakistan. Thari Mirwah ( sd, ٺري ميرواهه), or Thari (), is the capital city of Mirwah Subdivision ( Mirwah taluka) in Khairpur District, Sindh, Pakistan. Thari weather is hetregenous (diverse) average temperature recorded is 14 - 40 c in winter and summer. Weather conditions allows growing many cereals and vegetable crops.
