Texas State Highway 68 (pre-1942)
State Highway 68 (SH 68) is a proposed state highway in the U.S. state of Texas. The route will run from I-69C/ US 281 in Edinburg, intersecting I-2/ US 83 in Donna, to the future SH 365 toll road in San Juan. Route description History The route was originally designated on August 21, 1923 to replace SH 10A between Stephenville and Dallas. In 1932, the portion from Stephenville to Dallas was cosigned with US 67. Another section was designated on March 22, 1938 from Eastland SS ''Eastland'' was a passenger ship based in Chicago and used for tours. On 24 July 1915, the ship rolled over onto its side while tied to a dock in the Chicago River. In total, 844 passengers and crew were killed in what was the largest loss ... to Lingleville. Stephenville is a city in and the county seat of Erath County, Texas, United States. It is on the North Bosque River, which forms nearby. Founded in 1854, it is home to Tarleton State University. Donna, Texas
Donna is a city in Hidalgo County, Texas, United States. The population was 16,797 at the 2020 census. History Donna is in southeastern Hidalgo County, east of McAllen, in territory that was granted to Lino Cabazos as part of the La Blanca land grant on May 19, 1834, by the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. The Cabazos family inhabited the area for at least twenty years after taking possession of the land, and their descendants continued to live in the area into the twentieth century. The first known Anglo-American settler was John F. Webber, who, accompanied by his wife Sylvia (Hector), a former slave, settled in the area in 1839. Texas State Highway 365
State Highway 365 (SH 365) is a future toll road that is under construction in Mission, Texas. The route will run from FM 1016 to US 281 and will provide an alternate route for heavy commercial vehicles. The highway is expected to become of the proposed Hidalgo County Loop. Route description SH 365 is planned to begin at an intersection with FM 1016. From there, it will head east and south to US 281. History SH 365 was designated on February 24, 1988, as a route from SH 361 in Ingleside to SH 35 at Aransas Pass. On October 13, 1988, the route was cancelled and became an extension of SH 363.
