Texas State Highway 40
State Highway 40 (SH 40) or William D. Fitch Parkway, runs from Farm to Market Road 2154 (FM 2154) to SH 6 in College Station, Texas. The current SH 40 was authorized in 1994. Signage for the highway went up March 2006 and the road was officially opened June 23, 2006. SH 40 occupies the overpass and intersection with SH 6 that was formerly Greens Prairie Road, which was truncated and connected to SH 40 by Arrington Road West of SH 6. Greens Prairie Road and SH 40 were renamed in honor of William D. Fitch in August 2006. At SH 6, SH 40 terminates and becomes a local road (maintaining the Fitch Parkway name) continuing northeast to SH 30. Texas State Highway 10
State Highway 10 (SH 10) runs from Texas State Highway 183, SH 183 in Euless, Texas, Euless to the intersection of Interstate 820 (Texas), I-820, Texas State Highway 121, SH 121 and SH 183 in Hurst, Texas, Hurst. This highway was created when a portion of SH 183 was rerouted on August 29, 1979. It is locally known as Hurst Boulevard and Euless Boulevard. It passes near the main facility of Bell Helicopter Textron. Route description SH 10 begins at the intersection of Interstate 820, SH 121, and SH 183 in Hurst, Texas, Hurst. The highway travels east on Hurst Blvd, gradually turning to the northeast. The road name changes to Euless Blvd when it crosses Raider Drive. Interstate 35E (I-35E), an Interstate Highway, is the eastern half of I-35, where it splits to serve the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. I-35 splits into two branch routes, I-35W and I-35E, at Hillsboro. I-35E travels north for , maintaining I-35's sequence of exit numbers. It travels through Dallas before rejoining with I-35W to reform I-35 in Denton. Texas State Highway 147
State Highway 147 (SH 147) is a state highway that runs from Zavalla north near to Shelbyville in Deep East Texas. The route was designated on March 19, 1930 as a renumbering of SH 8B from San Augustine to Zavalla. On March 26, 1942, SH 147 was cancelled and redesignated as FM 10. On September 9, 1947, FM 10 was cancelled and redesignated as SH 147, its original designation. SH 147 was extended north along the old route of U.S. Highway 96 from San Augustine to southeast of Shelbyville on August 20, 1952. On July 31, 1984, SH 147 was rerouted to be concurrent with new SH 21 rather than old SH 21. Zavalla is a city in Angelina County, Texas, United States. The population was 603 at the 2020 census. The town is named for Lorenzo de Zavala, a Mexican rancher, politician, and signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence who served as the first Vice-President of the Republic of Texas. Its city limits stretch several miles south of town into a heavily wooded area.
