Texas State Highway 310
State Highway 310 (SH 310) is an north–south state highway located mostly within Dallas. It is a portion of the old route of U.S. Highway 75 (US 75) along the Central Expressway, which now ends in downtown Dallas. The road, located within Hutchins and South Dallas, has been replaced as the major through route by Interstate 45 (I-45). SH 310 is known as the South Central Expressway south of its intersection with Loop 12 and the S. M. Wright Freeway north of it. Route description SH 310 begins and ends at I-45. It begins at I-45 in Hutchins as an arterial road named the South Central Expressway and intersects I-20 before entering Dallas. Passing through South Dallas, SH 310 has an interchange with Loop 12, taking on the name of the S. M. Wright Freeway. Hutchins, Texas
Hutchins is a city in Dallas County, Texas, United States. Its population was 5,338 at the 2010 census. History The area was first inhabited by families around 1860 as a trading place for immigrants who settled along the west bank of the Trinity River and new arrivals who crossed the Trinity at Dowd's Ferry from the east. The town received its name from railroad developer William J. Hutchins, who was then president and general manager of the Houston and Texas Central Railroad (H&TC). The railway was completed through Hutchins in 1872. That same year a post office opened in the community. The population of Hutchins grew to around 250 residents in 1884 and topped 300 by 1890. That figure declined slightly to 204 in 1904, but had risen to 500 in 1926. Hutchins was officially incorporated in 1945. South Dallas is an area in Dallas, Texas. It is south of Downtown Dallas, bordered by Trinity River on the west, Interstate 30 on the north, and the Great Trinity Forest to the south and east. Interstate 45
Interstate 45 (I-45) is a major Interstate Highway located entirely within the US state of Texas. While most Interstate routes which have numbers ending in "5" are cross-country north–south routes, I-45 is comparatively short, with the entire route located in Texas. Additionally, it has the shortest length of all the interstates that end in a "5." It connects the cities of Dallas and Houston, continuing southeast from Houston to Galveston over the Galveston Causeway to the Gulf of Mexico. I-45 replaced U.S. Highway 75 (US 75) over its entire length, although portions of US 75 remained parallel to I-45 until its elimination south of Downtown Dallas in 1987. Texas State Highway Loop 12
Loop 12 is a state highway that runs mostly within the city limits of Dallas, Texas. The western segment of the loop is named after General Walton Walker, who served and died in South Korea. During the 1950s and 1960s, Loop 12 was the outer beltway in the Dallas area, having since been supplanted by Interstate 635 (I-635), which is itself being supplanted by the President George Bush Turnpike (SH 190). Loop 12 is, however, the only state highway in Dallas that forms a complete loop ( Belt Line Road is also a complete loop but is not a state road except for a stretch as part of Farm to Market Road 1382). Trinity River (Texas)
The Trinity River is a river, the longest with a watershed entirely within the U.S. state of Texas. It rises in extreme northern Texas, a few miles south of the Red River. Freezing Rain
Freezing rain is rain maintained at temperatures below freezing by the ambient air mass that causes freezing on contact with surfaces. Unlike a mixture of rain and snow or ice pellets, freezing rain is made entirely of liquid droplets. The raindrops become supercooled while passing through a sub-freezing layer of air hundreds of meters above the ground, and then freeze upon impact with any surface they encounter, including the ground, trees, electrical wires, aircraft, and automobiles. The resulting ice, called glaze ice, can accumulate to a thickness of several centimeters and cover all exposed surfaces. The METAR code for freezing rain is FZRA. A storm that produces a significant thickness of glaze ice from freezing rain is often referred to as an ice storm. Texas State Highway 29
State Highway 29 (SH 29) runs from south of Menard, Texas, east to SH 95 in Circleville (6.0 miles north of Taylor) via Mason, Llano, Burnet, Liberty Hill, and Georgetown in central Texas, United States. In Georgetown, SH 29 is known as University Avenue and is the main east–west artery through the city, passing in front of Southwestern University, which has been on the same road since its Georgetown campus opened in 1873. An open house meeting at East View High School in Georgetown was held on September 1, 2015. The meeting's purpose was to review the upcoming plans on widening SH 29 from 2 lanes (80 ft.) to 6 lanes (160 ft.). Texas Park Road 10
Park Roads represent a subset of public roads designated and maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Park Roads are intended to provide access to and connection within Texas state parks. The system of Park Roads was established in 1937 at the request of the state parks board to establish maintenance of eight roads within the state's parks.
