Terry Tarpey
Terence "Terry" Tarpey III (born March 2, 1994) is a French-American professional basketball player for AS Monaco Basket of LNB Pro A and the EuroLeague. He also represents the French national team in international competitions. Tarpey played college basketball with the William & Mary Tribe. Early life Born in Poissy, Tarpey spent his first three years in Le Mans where his father was playing professionally. He is the son of Terence "Terry" Tarpey Jr., an American-French former professional basketball player who spent most of his career playing in France. He is of Lithuanian descent through a grandparent. At the age of four, Tarpey moved with his family to New York City before settling in Stamford, Connecticut. LNB Pro A
The LNB Pro A, currently known for sponsorship reasons as Betclic Élite, is the top-tier men's professional basketball league in France. The competition has existed since 1921. Since 1987, the Ligue Nationale de Basket has governed the league. The bottom two placed teams from each season are relegated to the second tier level Pro B. The winner of the play-offs of the Pro A is crowned the French national champion. Competition format All 16 Pro A League teams play each other twice during the regular season. The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup will be the 19th tournament of the FIBA Basketball World Cup for men's national basketball teams. The tournament will be the second to feature 32 teams. For the first time in its history, the World Cup will be hosted by multiple nations, the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia, from 25 August to 10 September 2023. The William & Mary Tribe is a moniker for the College of William & Mary's athletic teams and the university's community more broadly. William & Mary has won two team national championships (both in men's tennis), the AIAW championships in women's golf, the NAIA championships in women's gymnastics, thirteen USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships, and various individual national championships. The James Madison Dukes men's basketball team is the college basketball, intercollegiate men's basketball program representing James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
