''Terror in Meeple City'' (Formerly ''Rampage'') is a board game created by & Antoine Bauza and published by . The game play involves using physical actions and various wooden game pieces to knock over buildings represented by cardboard tiles and held up by meeple figures. Setting The game's setting is Meeple City, represented by a physical game board on which are built several "buildings" constructed out of cardboard "floors" and held up by wooden meeple figures. The city is under attack by giant lizard-like monsters controlled by the players, whose goal is to demolish the buildings and eat the meeples which are knocked free by doing so. Gameplay The monsters themselves, as well as the meeples and tokens representing vehicles, are constructed from wood and are heavier than typical game pieces. Antoine Bauza
Antoine Bauza (born 25 August 1978) is a French game designer. He designs board games, role-playing games and video games as well as being an author of children's books. Life and career Bauza was born on 25 August 1978. As a teenager, he was very interested in role-playing games, and wanted to become a video game designer. However, Bauza decided not to pursue video games as a career because he did not want to move away to Shanghai or Montreal, where video game companies were hiring at the time. He instead decided to become a teacher. After reconnecting with friends who started to hold their own game nights, Bauza began making his first board game prototypes in 2003 during his free time while studying at the Institut Universitaire de Formation des Maîtres. Meeple
A meeple is a small board-game piece, usually with a stylized human form. They are usually made from wood and painted in bright colors. Meeples have been called an icon of German-style board games ("Eurogames"). The word is a contraction of "my people". Meeples are more anthropomorphized than pawns. Whereas pawns have a stylized head and body, meeples have a more humanoid shape, with limbs. They have replaced pawns in many modern games, making the latter a rarity outside classic games.
