Terri Bryant

	Terri Bryant Terri Bryant is a Republican member of the Illinois Senate from the 58th district. Previously, she was a member of the Illinois House of Representatives representing the 115th district from 2015 until 2021. She took office two weeks earlier than the majority of the 2015 freshman class when her predecessor Mike Bost resigned early in order to take office in Congress. The 115th district, located in Southern Illinois, includes Jefferson, Washington, Perry, Jackson and Union counties. Bryant was a public administrator with the Illinois Department of Corrections prior to her tenure as a State Representative. Bryant announced she would run for the Illinois Senate in 2020 to succeed fellow Republican Paul Schimpf. 	Paul Schimpf Paul M. Schimpf (born 1971) is an American lawyer and former Republican member of the Illinois Senate from the 58th district from 2017 to 2021. Among his activities prior to his tenure as State Senator, Schimpf served in the U.S. Marine Corps, participated in the trial of Saddam Hussein, and was the Republican nominee for Illinois Attorney General in 2014. Schimpf was a candidate for the Republican nomination for governor in the 2022 Illinois gubernatorial election. 	Mike Bost Michael Joseph Bost (; born December 30, 1960) is an American politician. A member of the Republican Party, he has served as the U.S. representative for Illinois's 12th congressional district since 2015. From 1995 to 2015, Bost was a member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 115th district. Before holding elected office, he was a firefighter.
