Teresa Cheung (socialite)
Teresa Cheung Siu-wai () (born June 10, 1963) is a Canadian actress and producer. Early life Born in Hong Kong to parents of Shanghainese descent, Cheung appeared in her first advertisement at the age of three. She was born in a scholarly family in Hong Kong in 1963, her original name was Zhang Rongfang (章蓉舫). Rongfang is the nickname of her grandfather, and later this household name is actually Teresa's nickname. Her grandfather was a senior official in the Republic of China, while her father immigrated to Canada and founded Zhang Jianguo, the first Chinese radio station in Canada. Teresa's mother, Zhou Wanjun (周婉筠) was born in a famous family and brought a maidservant when she got married. Her father, Francis Cheung (章建国) was born in Shaoxing, who founded Canadian Chinese TV, passed away at the age of 85. Yonfan (born 14 October 1947) is a Hong Kong film director and photographer. Biography He was born in Wuhan, Hubei, Republic of China. As the Yang family emigrated from mainland China, they lived first in Hong Kong for 3 years, and then moved to Taiwan when Yonfan was 5 years old. He spent most of his childhood and adolescence in Taichung, Taiwan, and returned to Hong Kong in 1964 as a 17-year-old man to work as a photographer, but left for the United States in 1968 to study film. After a couple of years travelling through the United States, France and Britain, he returned to Hong Kong in 1973, and became a photographer noted for his celebrity portraits. The Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards () are the annual awards given by the Hong Kong Film Critics Society in Hong Kong since 1994. The awards are determined by votes cast in three rounds after a substantial discussion session between the members of the society. The transcript of such discussion can be found in the annual journal of Hong Kong film reviews which is published by the society every year. The society presented the awards in a casual but star-studded ceremony. The Hong Kong Film Awards (HKFA; ), founded in 1982, is an annual film awards ceremony in Hong Kong. The ceremonies are typically in April. The Cinemanila International Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Manila, Philippines. It was founded by Filipino filmmaker Amable "Tikoy" Aguiluz in 1999. The focus of the festival is on the cinema of the Philippines as well as Southeast Asian cinema. The Cinemanila icon is the ''bulol'', a deity whose presence ensures good harvest.
