Casalattico
Casalattico (Campanian: ) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Frosinone in the Italian region of Lazio. The village is located about southeast of Rome and about east of Frosinone. It is home to a summer Irish festival celebrating the local families that moved to Ireland with the twinning of the town with Naas in Co kildare Ireland. The festival hosts Irish folk music and local artists. The nearby Melfa river, a tributary of the Liri river, flows in the commune. The town houses the local commune offices and postal services. The Province of Frosinone ( it, Provincia di Frosinone) is a province in the Lazio region of Italy, with 91 ''comuni'' (singular: ''comune''; see Comuni of the Province of Frosinone). Its capital is the city of Frosinone. It has an area of and a total population of 493,605 (2016). The Province was established by Royal Decree on 6 December 1926 with territories belonging to the then provinces of Rome and Caserta. Saint Giles (, la, Aegidius, french: Gilles), also known as Giles the Hermit, was a hermit or monk active in the lower Rhône most likely in the 6th century. Atina is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Frosinone, Lazio region of central Italy. The economy is mostly based on agriculture (olive oil, wine – including Cabernet – and beans). History Atina was a town of the Samnites, later conquered by the Romans. Cicero speaks of it as a prosperous country town, which had not as yet fallen into the hands of large proprietors; and inscriptions show that in the Imperial age it was still flourishing. After the fall of the Western Roman Empire, it was conquered by the Lombards, becoming part of the Duchy of Benevento in 702. Later it was ruled by the lords of Capua, the counts of the Marsi and those of Aquino, and, together with of most of the Comino Valley of the County (later Duchy) of Alvito.
