State Route 318 (SR 318) is a short state highway in Hamilton County in the southeastern portion of the U.S. state of Tennessee. It serves as a connector between US 11 / US 41 / US 64 / US 72 and SR 148 and the Lookout Mountain tourist area. Route description SR 318 begins in the Tiftonia/Lookout Valley area of West Chattanooga at US 11/ US 41/ US 64/ US 72. It is a narrow, winding mountain road that rises above the U.S. Highways which lie at the base of the mountain. It ends at SR 148 north of the town of Lookout Mountain and the route travels near the eponymous mountain ridge of the same name. State Route 148 (SR 148) is state highway in Hamilton County in southeastern portion of the U.S. state of Tennessee. Route description SR 148 begins at Georgia State Route 189 at the TN-GA border in both Lookout Mountain, Tennessee and Lookout Mountain, Georgia. It proceeds northeast to a four-way intersection where SR 148 turns northward and continues northward to Downtown Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, where SR 148 turns eastward and leaves the Town limits of Lookout Mountain. It then turns back north and climbs up the mountain ridge and enters Chattanooga city limits. SR 148 then passes Ruby Falls and comes to a three way T intersection, SR 318 goes west and SR 148 turns back eastward and comes to an end at an intersection with US 11/US 41/US 64/US 72. Lookout Mountain
Lookout Mountain is a mountain ridge located at the northwest corner of the U.S. state of Georgia, the northeast corner of Alabama, and along the southeastern Tennessee state line in Chattanooga. Lookout Mountain was the scene of the 18th-century "Last Battle of the Cherokees" in this area during the Nickajack Expedition. Tennessee State Route 2
State Route 2 (SR 2) is a west–to–east state highway in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It begins in Murfreesboro, in Rutherford County, and ends near Farragut in Loudon County. The route is both a primary and secondary route. Most of the route is unsigned. It travels southeast from Rutherford County toward Chattanooga and then northeast from there to Loudon County. As nearly the entire route travels concurrent with U.S. Highways, the designation "Tennessee State Route 2" is seldomly used by the general public. The only exception would be a small portion of the route that runs parallel to Interstate 24 (I-24) near Kimball. This portion has been removed from the U.S. Highway system and is no longer part of U.S. Route 41 (US 41); but the highway still exists and is in use.
