State Route 235 (SR 235) is a long north-south state highway in Middle Tennessee. It connects Dickson to Cunningham via Sylvia, Vanleer, and Slayden. Route description SR 235 begins in Dickson County as the unsigned companion route of US 70 Business in Dickson at an intersection with US 70/ SR 1 (Henslee Drive/College Street). They go west along College Street to pass through a business district and by a hospital to have an intersection with SR 46 (Mathis Drive). The highway then passes through downtown, where it has an intersection with SR 48 (Church Street), before passing through neighborhoods and coming to another intersection with US 70/SR 1 (Henslee Drive), which is now concurrent with SR 46. Here, US 70 Business ends and SR 235 turns west on US 70/SR 1/SR 46 for a short distance before splitting off and turning north along West End Avenue, concurrent with SR 46. Dickson is a city in the U.S. state of Tennessee. Located in Dickson County. it is part of the Nashville metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, Dickson's population was 16,058. History Dickson was named for Congressman William Dickson, as was Dickson County. The City started as a stop on the railroad line between Nashville and the Tennessee River. When Union Troops had finished the supply line during the Civil War, the area was known as Mile 42 post. Geography Dickson is located in south-central Dickson County at (36.071485, -87.374539). It is bordered to the east by the town of Burns. U.S. Route 70 passes through the north side of the city as Henslee Drive; it leads east to Nashville and west to Huntingdon. The route forms a broad southern arc that passes through the rural Middle Tennessee towns of Dover, Erin, Charlotte, Ashland City, Pleasant View, and Springfield. Route description SR 49 begins in Stewart County in downtown Dover at a junction with US 79/ SR 76 as a primary highway. State Route 48 (SR 48) is a long north–south state highway in Middle Tennessee. It traverses six counties, and it is long. Route description Wayne, Perry, and Lewis Counties SR 48 begins as a primary state route in far northern Wayne County at a junction with SR 13. Then it travels through the southeastern corner of Perry County before entering Lewis County to intersect SR 20, and then U.S. Route 412 (US 412) and SR 99 in Hohenwald. After Hohenwald, SR 48 then goes due north to Hickman County. Hickman County SR 48 then runs concurrently with SR 100 near the Beaver Dam Creek Wildlife Management Area.
