Broadcasting is the distribution (business), distribution of sound, audio or video content to a dispersed audience via any electronic medium (communication), mass communications medium, but typically one using the electromagnetic spectrum (radio waves), in a :wikt:one-to-many, one-to-many model. Broadcasting began with AM radio, which came into popular use around 1920 with the spread of vacuum tube radio transmitters and radio receiver, receivers. Skai TV
Skai TV (Greek: ΣΚΑΪ) is a Greek free-to-air television network based in Piraeus. It is part of the Skai Group, one of the largest media groups in the country. It was relaunched in its present form on 1 April 2006 in the Athens metropolitan area, and gradually spread its coverage nationwide. Besides digital terrestrial transmission, it is available on the subscription-based encrypted services of Nova and Cosmote TV. Skai TV is also a member of Digea, a consortium of private television networks introducing digital terrestrial transmission in Greece. At launch, Skai TV opted for dubbing all foreign language content into Greek, instead of using subtitles. 902 TV was a television station in Greece that was supported by the Communist Party of Greece. It featured general entertainment programming and was available throughout Greece. On September 10, 2012, ceased operations due to financial difficulties as well as the high costs involved in converting from analogue to digital. On March 2, 2013, starts broadcasting again via Digea. On 11 August 2013, the television station along with the relevant broadcast license was sold by the party to a private company called A-Horizon Media Ltd, and hence no longer has any affiliation to the party. MCM (TV Channel)
MCM is a French music video TV channel owned by Groupe MCM. It was started in 1989 by Groupe Europe 1 following the MTV model, as the French version of MTV. MCM broadcasts three encrypted music TV channels "MCM France", "MCM Pop" and "MCM Top" as part of the "CanalSat France" subscription TV package from the Astra 19.2°E cluster of direct-to-home broadcast satellites at the 19.2 degrees East orbital position. It is the first and the oldest private television network in Greece.
