Teja Melink (born 23 March 1980) is a Slovenian pole vaulter. She finished seventh at the 2005 Summer Universiade. She also competed at the 1998 European Championships, the 2002 European Indoor Championships, the 2004 Olympic Games, the 2005 European Indoor Championships and the 2005 World Championships without reaching the final round. 2005 World Championships In Athletics
The 10th World Championships in Athletics, under the auspices of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), were held in the Olympic Stadium, Helsinki, Finland (6 August 2005 – 14 August 2005), the site of the first IAAF World Championships in 1983. One theme of the 2005 championships was paralympic events, some of which were included as exhibition events. Much of the event was played in extremely heavy rainfall. Background Bidding The original winning bid for the competition was for London but the cost to build the required stadium at Picketts Lock and host the event was deemed too expensive by the government. Athletics At The 2005 Mediterranean Games
The athletics competition at the 2005 Mediterranean Games was held in the Mediterraneo Stadium in Almería, Spain from 29 June to 2 July 2005. France topped the medal tally with 10 golds and 30 medals overall, with host nation Italy coming in second with 9 golds and 26 medals overall. A total of 47 events were contested, with 24 contested by male athletes and 23 contested by female athletes. The 3000 metres steeplechase and 1500 metres wheelchair (males only), and the 800 metres wheelchair (females only) were the only events that were not held for both genders. The 2005 European Athletics Indoor Championships were held at the Palacio de Deportes in Madrid, the capital city of Spain, from Friday, 4 March to Sunday, 6 March 2005. This was the first edition to be held in an odd year since switching to the biennial format, so as not to occur in the same as the outdoor European Athletics Championships and also recently moved IAAF World Indoor Championships. To accommodate this change, there was a two-year gap since the previous edition. It also marked the last time that the 200 metres were contested at the event.
