Teio Sho
The Teio Sho (帝王賞) is a Japanese domestic Grade 1 race. This race began in 1978 as a spring championship race of southern Kanto region horseracing. It was later opened to JRA horses in 1986. Then, there were few opportunities for JRA and NAR horses to run in the same race, because JRA and NAR were individually operated. This trial promoted an expansion of exchanges between the two organizations. In 1997, it was graded as Domestic Grade 1. The race is run over 2000 metres at Ohi Racecourse , also known as Tokyo City Keiba (TCK), is located in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan. Thoroughbred
The Thoroughbred is a horse breed best known for its use in horse racing. Although the word ''thoroughbred'' is sometimes used to refer to any breed of purebred horse, it technically refers only to the Thoroughbred breed. Thoroughbreds are considered " hot-blooded" horses that are known for their agility, speed, and spirit. The Thoroughbred, as it is known today, was developed in 17th- and 18th-century England, when native mares were crossbred with imported Oriental stallions of Arabian, Barb, and Turkoman breeding. , also known as Tokyo City Keiba (TCK), is located in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan. Espoir City
Espoir City (Japanese: エスポワールシチー, foaled April 22nd, 2005) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse and the winner of the 2010 February Stakes. Career Espoir City debuted on March 9, 2008, at Hanshin, where he came in 3rd. He got his first win after six races on July 29, 2008, when he won at Kokura. He then picked up another win at Kokura on August 10, 2008. This sparked a 4 race winstreak. 2009 was a very successful year for Espoir City. He went on a 6 race winstreak. He picked up his first graded win on March 29, 2009, when he won the March Stakes. He then won his first Grade-1 race by winning the May 5th, 2009 Kashiwa Kinen. Kent Jason Desormeaux (born February 27, 1970) is an American thoroughbred horse racing Hall of Fame jockey who holds the U.S. record for most races won in a single year with 598 wins in 1989. He has won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes three times each, and the Belmont Stakes once. Aboard Real Quiet, he lost the 1998 Triple Crown by a nose. Christophe Patrice Lemaire (Japanese:, born 20 May 1979) is a French-born jockey. He has enjoyed much of his success on the Japanese flat racing circuit, with the most wins at Japan Racing Association racetracks for five consecutive years since 2017. Career Lemaire began racing in 1999, after he obtained the license required for a French jockey.
