Teignmouth Association Football Club is a football club based in Teignmouth, England. They are currently members of the and play at Coombe Valley, Teignmouth. History Teignmouth were formed in 1946. In 1982, the club joined the South Western League, leaving six years later. In 1992, Teignmouth became founder members of the Devon County League, before being relegated into the South Devon League in 1999. In 2004, Teignmouth rejoined the Devon County League, winning the league in their first season back. In 2007, Teignmouth became founder members of the South West Peninsula League, being placed in the Division One East. In 2019, Teignmouth became founder members of the Devon League, winning the South West Division three years later. In 2022, the club was admitted into the South West Peninsula League Premier Division East. Teignmouth ( ) is a seaside town, fishing port and civil parish in the English county of Devon. It is situated on the north bank of the estuary mouth of the River Teign, about 12 miles south of Exeter. The town had a population of 14,749 at the last census in 2011. From the 1800s onwards, the town rapidly grew in size from a fishing port associated with the Newfoundland cod industry to a fashionable resort of some note in Georgian times, with further expansion after the opening of the South Devon Railway in 1846. Today, its port still operates and the town remains a popular seaside and day trip holiday location. South Western Football League
The South Western Football League was an English association football league composed of clubs from Cornwall and west and north Devon. It consisted of a single division at the eleventh overall tier of the English football league system, the seventh and lowest "Step" of the official National League System. The East Cornwall League and Cornwall Combination ranked below the South Western on the overall pyramid, and in turn have feeder leagues of their own. Champions of the South Western League, whose last principal sponsor was the ''Carlsberg'' beer brand via St. Austell Brewery, were eligible for promotion to the lower division of the Western League, but the difficulties Cornish teams have travelling further afield have discouraged applications for promotion. The South Devon Football League, known under a sponsorship arrangement as the TCSSDFL, is a football competition based in England. Its top division, the ''Premier Division'', sits at level 12 of the English football league system. This league is a feeder to the Devon Football League. There are five divisions in the league. The SDFL's primary cup competition is the Herald Cup. It is a simple knockout competition featuring all SDFL clubs (first teams only). South West Peninsula League
The South West Peninsula League (SWPL) is a football competition in England, which was formed in 2007 from the merger of the Devon County League and the South Western League. The league is restricted to clubs based in Cornwall, Devon and West Dorset. The league consists of two Premier Divisions (East and West), which are ranked at Step 6 in the National League System. Until 2019–20, there was a single Premier Division at Step 6, and two divisions at Step 7 (Division One West and Division One East). Subject to applying, receiving the required ground grading and finishing high enough in the league table, one club from each Premier Division can be promoted to the Western League Premier Division each season.
