Teheran-ro
Teheran-ro (translation "Tehran Boulevard") is a street in the Gangnam district of Seoul, South Korea. It runs from Gangnam Station through Yeoksam-dong and into Samseong-dong. It is colloquially known as "Teheran Valley" (after Silicon Valley) due to the number of internet-related companies operating there. The district of Gangnam-gu experienced phenomenal growth and waves of construction, with Teheran-ro becoming one of the busiest streets in South Korea. Its counterpart, Seoul St. in Tehran, Iran, runs in the north of that city, close to the Evin district. Teheran-ro is a 3.5 km section of Seoul City Route 90, and runs eastwards from Gangnam Station to Samseong Station and the COEX/ KWTC complex. Yeoksam and Seolleung stations are also on Teheran-ro. All stations are on Seoul Subway Line 2. Seoul Street
Seoul Street ( fa, خیابان سئول) is a street that runs in the north of Tehran, Iran, close to the city's Evin district. Name On 27 June 1977, the Seoul Metropolitan Government suggested that the cities of Seoul (the capital of South Korea) and Tehran (the capital of Iran) exchange the names of streets on the occasion of the visit to South Korea of Gholamreza Nikpey, the Mayor of Tehran. The following year, "Samneungno" street was renamed Teheran-ro (translation: Tehran Boulevard). Seoul Street's Korean counterpart then ran through a relatively underdeveloped area that been annexed into Seoul in 1963, which then experienced phenomenal growth and waves of construction. Gholamreza Nikpey
Gholam-Reza Nikpey (غلامرضا نیکپی), also Nikpay (1927 – 11 April 1979) was deputy prime minister of Iran and Mayor of Tehran. He became Mayor of Tehran in 1969, succeeding Javad Shahrestani. Prior to that, he had served as Iran's Minister of Housing from 1966 to 1969. During his tenure as the Housing Minister, an earthquake rocked the Province of Khorasan, causing mass destruction. He was in charge of rebuilding. It turned out to be one of the best rebuilding projects in the country's history. In 1977, he was appointed to Iranian Senate by the Shah. He was executed on 11 April 1979 on the orders of a revolutionary tribunal, without legal representation or it appears a chance to defend himself. Nikpay is one of the victims listed in the 13 March 1980 Amnesty International report. Tehran
Tehran (; fa, تهران ) is the largest city in Tehran Province and the capital of Iran. Gangnam-gu
Gangnam District ( ; , ) is one of the 25 local government districts which make up the city of Seoul, South Korea. Gangnam translates to "South of the (Han) River". Gangnam District is the third largest district in Seoul, with an area of . As of the 2017 census, Gangnam District had a population of 561,052. There is a high concentration of wealth in the district, with prices for an apartment as of 2020 nearly double those in the rest of Seoul.
