Tegnérlunden
Tegnérlunden is a park at the border of city districts Norrmalm and Vasastan in central Stockholm, Sweden. History It was originally erected 1890, but was re-constructed in 1940 under the direction of landscape architect Erik Glemme. It is home to statues of two Swedish authors. On a hill in the park's eastern part stands Carl Eldh's massive statue of August Strindberg, erected in 1942. A statue of Astrid Lindgren was erected in 1996. Enskilda Gymnasiet
Enskilda Gymnasiet (EG) is an independent secondary school from the 10th-12th grade and school from the 7th-9th grade, founded in 1913. Enskilda Gymnasiet is located at {{ill, Tegnérlunden 5, sv near Tegnérlunden, in central Stockholm, Sweden. Based on standardised national tests, the school usually ranks amongst the highest in Sweden. The school has about 500 students in total. For upper secondary school students, Enskilda Gymnasiet offers the Social Science Programme and the Natural Science Programme. For the lower grades (lower secondary school) there are long waiting lists, as the school only accepts 60–90 new students each year. Erik Glemme
Erik Glemme (27 May 1905- 20 January 1959) was a Swedish designer and landscape architect. Biography Glemme was born in Jönköping, Sweden. He trained at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm from 1927 to 1929. He apprenticed with architect Osvald Almqvist (1884–1950). He was employed at the Royal Institute of Technology as an assistant 1943-1947 and as a teacher 1947–1952. From 1936 to 1956 he was chief architect of the design office of the city of Stockholm Parks Department. His work includes Mälarpaviljongen, a landscape park on Norr Mälarstrand, which he designed with landscape architect Holger Blom (1906-1996). Carl Eldh
Carl Eldh (10 May 1873 – 26 January 1954) was a Swedish artist and sculptor. Full name: Carl Johan Eldh (signs on artwork as "''C.J. ELDH''"). Older brother to Albert Eldh. Biography Eldh was born in Östhammar Municipality, Uppland, the son of a blacksmith. From 1897 through 1904 he studied sculpture at the Académie Colarossi in Paris, where the French sculptor Auguste Rodin inspired him greatly. His first works were characterized by softer forms, but by 1916 he had developed a powerful realistic style, as with the Strindberg Monument in Tegnérlunden in Stockholm. Strindberg was a frequent subject for Eldh. Carl Eldh ranks along Carl Milles with the most popular Swedish sculptors of the first half of the 20th century. Mio, My Son
''Mio, My Son'' is a children's book by Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren. It was first published in 1954 in Sweden with the Swedish title ''Mio, min Mio'' (literally "Mio, my Mio"). The writing is stylised and the story strongly reminiscent of traditional fairy tales and folklore. It received a German Youth Literature Prize ('' Deutschen Jugendbuchpreis'') in 1956. Norrmalm
Norrmalm is a city district in Stockholm, Sweden. History Norrmalm is part of the larger borough of Norrmalm (''Norrmalms stadsdelsområde''). The southern part of the district, Lower Norrmalm (''Nedre Norrmalm''), also known as City, constitutes the most central part of Stockholm, while Upper Norrmalm (''Övre Norrmalm'') is more residential. The name Norrmalm is first mentioned in 1288. In 1602 Norrmalm became an independent city with its own mayor and administration called the Northern Suburb (''Norra Förstaden''). Astrid Lindgren
Astrid Anna Emilia Lindgren (; ; 14 November 1907 – 28 January 2002) was a Swedish writer of fiction and screenplays.
