Odysseus

Henri-René Lenormand
Henri-René Lenormand (3 May 1882 - 16 February 1951) was a French playwright. He was born on 3 May 1882 in Paris. His plays, steeped in symbolism, were recognized for their explorations of subconscious motivation, deeply reflecting the influence of the theories of Sigmund Freud. He was the son of a composer, René Lenormand, and was educated at the University of Paris. When Lenormand died on 16 February 1951 in Paris, he was survived by his wife, Dutch actress Marie Kalff. Theatre or theater is a collaborative form of performing art that uses live performers, usually actors or actresses, to present the experience of a real or imagined event before a live audience in a specific place, often a stage. Teatro Orientación
The Teatro Orientación was a modern theater group in Mexico City, that was established in 1932 by Isabela Corona and Julio Bracho, and existed until 1938. Most of the theater group members, which was directed by Celestino Gorostiza, were members of the Los Contemporáneos group, and were members of the former Teatro Ulises before. In contrast to the former Teatro Ulises, the Teatro de Orientación was government-sponsored. In the beginning, the scenarios also based mainly on translations of scripts of notable international writers, but later the group staged own plays. The Teatro Orientación group was an experimental theater group from the 1930s. Celestino Gorostiza
Celestino Gorostiza Alcalá (born January 31, 1904 in Villahermosa – January 11, 1967 in Mexico City) was a Mexican theater and cine playwright, director and dramatist. Biography Gorostiza, son of Celestino Gorostiza and Elvira Alcalá de Gorostiza, was the older brother of José Gorostiza. He was co-founder of the '' Ulises'' theater (1927-1928) and of the ''Orientación'' theater (1932), both in Mexico City Gorostiza was married to Araceli Otero Mena, older sister of Clementina Otero. Araceli gave birth to their daughter Paloma Gorostiza Otero. He was a numbered member of the Academia Mexicana de la Lengua and a member of the Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas, as well as director of the department of theater at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes. Isabela Corona''Cronología de Teatro en México - 1926/10''' (in Spanish) (July 2, 1913 – July 8, 1993) was a Mexican actress. She debuted during the first decade of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. Biography Isabela Corona was born as Refugio Pérez Frías in El Chante, a municipio of Autlán, Jalisco. In her early years she moved to Mexico City, where she started her career on stage of the ''teatro Ideal'' as a teenager in 1926. Julio Castellanos González (b. Mexico City, October 3, 1905 – d. Mexico City, July 16, 1947) was a Mexican painter and engraver. Biography Castellanos matriculated the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes in 1918, where he studied under Saturnino Herrán and Leandro Izaguirre, together with Agustín Lazo, Rufino Tamayo and Leopoldo Méndez. Afterwards he studied engraving in the United States, where he met Manuel Rodríguez Lozano, who influenced his work strongly. Back in Mexico, he participated in the open-air painting schools ( es, Escuela de Pintura al Aire Libre) there, and studied drawing under Adolfo Best Maugard. Manuel Rodríguez Lozano (December 4, 1896 – March 27, 1971) was a List of Mexican artists, Mexican painter, known for his “melancholy” depiction of Mexico rather than the more dominant political or festive one of the Mexican muralism movement. This is especially true of his “white stage” which is marked by cold colors and tragic scenes focusing on human figures which are skeletal or ghost-like. Roberto Montenegro
Roberto Montenegro Nervo (February 19, 1885 in Guadalajara – October 13, 1968 in Mexico City) was a painter, muralist and illustrator, who was one of the first to be involved in the Mexican muralism movement after the Mexican Revolution. Julio Jiménez Rueda
Julio Jiménez Rueda (April 10, 1896 – June 25, 1960) was a Mexican lawyer, writer, playwright and diplomat. Biography Jiménez Rueda studied at the Escuela Nacional Preparatoria, and graduated in law at the Universidad Nacional de México (later UNAM) in 1919. Later on, he was appointed as the director of the Escuela Nacional de Arte Teatral of UNAM. He completed a doctoral degree of philosophy and literature in 1935. As a diplomat, he served in Montevideo in 1920, and afterwards in Buenos Aires until 1922.
