Team Gallery
Team Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City, with an additional project space in Venice, Los Angeles, California. It was founded by José Freire and Lisa Ruyter in 1996. Team has represented such artists as Ryan McGinley, Banks Violette, Cory Arcangel, Sam McKinniss, and Gardar Eide Einarsson. History Team was founded by José Freire and artist Lisa Ruyter in 1996. The gallery moved from Chelsea, Manhattan, Chelsea to SoHo in 2006 and opened a second space in the same neighborhood in 2011. In November 2014, Team opened an outpost in Venice, Los Angeles, California, in a domestic space, christened Team Bungalow. Team Gallery, SoHo NY
A team is a group of individuals (human or non-human) working together to achieve their goal. As defined by Professor Leigh Thompson of the Kellogg School of Management, " team is a group of people who are interdependent with respect to information, resources, knowledge and skills and who seek to combine their efforts to achieve a common goal". A group does not necessarily constitute a team. Teams normally have members with complementary skills and generate synergy through a coordinated effort which allows each member to maximize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses. Tabor Robak
Tabor Robak (born May 31, 1986) is an American Contemporary Artist working in New Media, living in Paris, France. Robak is primarily known for his trailblazing digital art practice, multi-channel video installations and generative artworks. Robak's work has been exhibited and collected internationally at renowned institutions such as Museum of Modern Art, Serpentine, National Gallery of Victoria, Albright Knox, and Migros Museum. In 2014, Robak was named in Forbes’ 30 under 30 in Art. Robak has guest lectured MFA students at Yale and co-taught an MFA course on real time 3D at New York University. Parker Ito
Parker Ito (born 1986) is a contemporary artist. He is fourth generation Japanese American, or Yonsei, living and working in Los Angeles. Life Parker Ito was born in 1986 in Long Beach, California, and was raised there. When Ito was younger, he acted and sang on television. Before becoming a professional artist, he aspired to become a professional skateboarder and held a job painting oil derricks in Los Angeles. Santiago Sierra
Santiago Sierra (born 1966) is a Spanish artist, known for performance art and installation art. Much of his work deals with the topic of social inequities. He lives in Madrid. Career Sierra's most well-known works involve hiring laborers to complete menial tasks. These works are meant to elucidate the nature of the laborer within Capitalist society, how the laborer sells his physical labor and thus his body, political issues such as immigration and continual immigrant poverty in Capitalist countries, the nature of work in Capitalist society, and the isolation of economic classes.
