A civil township is a widely used unit of local government in the United States that is subordinate to a county, most often in the northern and midwestern parts of the country. Scotland is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Taylor Township, Greene County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 134. History The Scotland post office was established in 1837. A majority of the early settlers were natives of the country of Scotland. Madison Township is one of ten townships in Daviess County, Indiana. As of the 2010 census, its population was 2,840 and it contained 1,233 housing units. History Madison Township was organized in 1823 and given the name of "Wallace Township".
