Tavignano
The Tavignano (; co, Tavignanu) is a river on the island of Corsica, France. Course The Tavignano is long. In antiquity the river was known as the ''Rhotanus'' or Ῥότανος. It crosses the communes of Aléria, Altiani, Antisanti, Casamaccioli, Corte, Erbajolo, Giuncaggio, Piedicorte-di-Gaggio, Poggio-di-Venaco, Riventosa, Santa-Lucia-di-Mercurio, Santo-Pietro-di-Venaco and Venaco. The Tavignano rises below the Capu a u Tozzu and flows to the east. It runs through Lac de Nino near its source. Part of the river's upper section flows through the Réserve biologique intégrale du Tavignano. It then flows through the town of Corte. From Corte it runs southeast to the Tyrrhenian Sea near Aléria, followed by the T50 road. it enters the sea between the Étang de Diane and the Étang del Sale. Altiani
Altiani () is a commune in the Haute-Corse department of France on the island of Corsica. Geography Location Altiani is a commune in the ''Rogna in Quà'' microregion consists of cliff villages in the valley of Tavignano. The village overlooks both the plain of Aleria and Corte as well as Venaco and therefore enjoys a remarkable panorama, very extensive and varied, over central mountain chain as well as the Tyrrhenian Sea. Relief The commune covers 1,829 hectares in the lower Tavignano valley. The river flows through its territory for 5 km before joining the Vecchio downstream in the ''Gasprese'' area. 300 metres upstream of the Genovese bridge on the N200 highway, the river is fed by the Limone stream whose source is under the Punta di Mangaio (1030 m - Sant'Andréa-di-Bozio). Tagnone
The Tagnone is a small river in the department of Haute-Corse, Corsica, France. It is a tributary of the river Tavignano. Course The Tagnone is long. It crosses the communes of Aghione, Aléria, Pietroso and Vezzani. The Tagnone rises in the commune of Vezzani to the northeast of the Punta Paglia. It run east past the village of Vezzani, then runs in a generally southeast direction to its confluence with the Tavignano south of Aléria, near the mouth of the Tavignano on the Tyrrhenian Sea. The D343 road follows the Tagnone for much of its course. Valley The Tagnone valley lies between the Tavignanu and Fium'Orbu valleys. It is smaller than these valleys and more isolated. Aléria
Aléria (; Ancient Greek: /, ; Latin and Italian: ; co, U Cateraghju) is a commune in the Haute-Corse department of France on the island of Corsica, former bishopric and present Latin Catholic titular see. It includes the easternmost point in Metropolitan France. Corsiglièse
The Corsiglièse is a stream in the department of Haute-Corse, Corsica, France. It is a tributary of the river Tavignano. Course The Corsiglièse is long. The stream rises to the south of the village of Sant'Andréa-di-Bozio and flows in a generally south-southeast direction to its junction with the Tavignano. It runs between the D16 or D116 to the east and the D14 to the west. Antisanti
Antisanti (in Corsican language, Corsican ''Antisanti'', pronounced [ɑ̃ŋ.ti.ˈzɑ̃ːŋ.ti]) is a Communes of France, commune in the Haute-Corse (Upper Corsica) Departments of France, department of France on the island of Corsica. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Antisantais'' or ''Antisantaises''. Geography Antisanti is a landlocked commune on the eastern side of Corsica overlooking the eastern plain of the island some 80 km south of Bastia and 12 km west by north-west of Aléria. It belonged to the ancient Pieve of Rogna and is now part of the ''Rogna in La'' micro-region located on the right bank of the Tavignano extending from Vivario to the plain. The Étang de Sale is a coastal wetland beside the Tyrrhenian Sea on the east coast of the Haute-Corse department of the French island of Corsica. Location The Étang de Sale is in the commune of Aléria. It lies between the T10 coastal highway and the sea, to the south of the village of Aléria and the Étang de Diane. Étang De Diane
The Étang de Diane ( co, Stagnu di Diana) is a coastal lagoon beside the Tyrrhenian Sea on the east coast of Haute-Corse department on the French island of Corsica. The lagoon served as a port for the Ancient Greeks, and then for the Romans. Today it is privately owned and mainly used for shellfish farming and fishing. Location The Étang de Diane is between the T10 coastal highway and the sea, just north of the village of Aléria. It is divided between the communes of Aléria in the south and Tallone in the north. The Tavignano river enters the sea just south of Aléria and the lagoon. The Étang de Terrenzana is just north of the lagoon.
