Taube Family
Taube is an ancient Baltic noble family, originally from Denmark, Jutland whose earlier roots can be traced from Westphalia, Germany. History The family historic references: Engelke Tuve (Taube) 1373 Danish vassal in Estonia. Another branch is known to have existed on the feudal estate of Wedewes. The other historic persons: vassals Tuvi Leos and Tuve Collae, 1240 in Estonia. In the 17th century, during Swedish Empire period, several members of the family joined Swedish kings. Berndt Taube was recognized a Baron (friherre) of Carlöö in Österbotten in 1652. Axel Evert Taube (; 12 March 1890 – 31 January 1976) was a Swedish author, artist, composer and singer. Arvid Taube
Arvid Fredrik Taube (19 January 1853 – 14 October 1916) was a Swedish aristocrat who served as the foreign minister between 1909 and 1911 and also, held various diplomatic posts. Biography Taube was born in 1853. He served as the head of the political department of the foreign ministry from 1892 to 1895. His next post was the secretary to the cabinet between 1895 and 1900. He was the foreign minister for two years in the period of 1909–1911 in the cabinet of Prime Minister Arvid Lindman. Taube replaced Eric Trolle in the post. Historically, in Europe, a lady-in-waiting was often a noblewoman but of lower rank than the woman to whom she attended. Julie Helene (Ella) Taube af Karlö (1860–1930), was a Swedish (originally Baltic-German) noble and courtier. She served as the lady-in-waiting to the queen of Sweden, Victoria of Baden. Taube was born in Estonia to the German-Baltic hakenrichtern baron Otto Fromhold Taube af Maydel af Karlö and Anna von Dellingshausen, and married the Swedish diplomat count Arvid Taube, ambassador to Berlin (1900–09) and foreign minister (1909–11), in 1884. Hedvig Ulrika Taube (31 October 1714 – 11 February 1744), also Countess von Hessenstein was a Swedish courtier and countess, a Holy Roman countess of the Empire, and royal mistress to king Frederick I of Sweden from 1731 to 1744.
