Tatuagem
"Tatuagem" (English: ''Tattoo'') is a poem written by the Brazilian singer, composer, dramatist and writer Chico Buarque de Holanda and the Brazilian film director, screenwriter, film editor, and actor Ruy Guerra, for the stage play ''Calabar'' (1972–1973). The poem was adapted into a song by Buarque, who recorded it on his album ''Chico Canta'' (1973). It was later recorded by the Brazilian singer Elis Regina for her studio album ''Falso Brilhante'' (1976). The poem is written from the point of view of a woman, who is described as being deeply in love with a man. She describes how she wants to stay in the body of her lover as if she were his tattoo. Falso Brilhante
''Falso Brilhante'' ( en, Fake diamond) is a 1976 studio album released by the critically acclaimed Brazilian MPB singer Elis Regina. On the year of 1975 Elis Regina opened her solo concert entitled ''Falso Brilhante'', where she launched the career of a new composer, Antonio Carlos Belchior, (with his songs "Como Nossos Pais" and "Velha Roupa Colorida"). One year after that concert, she recorded part of the repertoire of the show and released on an LP. This LP was later reissued as a CD in 1999. It was listed by ''Rolling Stone'' Brazil as one of the 100 best Brazilian albums in history. The magazine also elected the song "Como Nossos Pais" as the 43rd greatest Brazilian song. Chico Buarque De Holanda
Francisco Buarque de Hollanda (born 19 June 1944), popularly known simply as Chico Buarque, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter, guitarist, composer, playwright, writer, and poet. He is best known for his music, which often includes social, economic, and cultural reflections on Brazil. The firstborn son of Sérgio Buarque de Hollanda, Buarque lived at several locations throughout his childhood, though mostly in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Rome. He wrote and studied literature as a child and found music through the bossa nova compositions of Tom Jobim and João Gilberto. He performed as a singer and guitarist in the 1960s as well as writing a play that was deemed dangerous by the Brazilian military dictatorship of the time. Buarque, along with several Tropicalist and MPB musicians, was threatened by the Brazilian military government and eventually left Brazil for Italy in 1969. Ruy Guerra
Ruy Alexandre Guerra Coelho Pereira (born August 22, 1931) is a Portuguese-Brazilian film director and screenwriter. Guerra was born a Portuguese citizen in Lourenço Marques (today Maputo) in Mozambique, when it was still a Portuguese colony. Biography Guerra studied at IDHEC film school in Paris from 1952. In 1958 he started his career as an assistant director in several French films. He subsequently immigrated to Brazil, where he directed his first feature film, ''Os Cafajestes'' (1962). It was entered into the 12th Berlin International Film Festival. In 1964, Guerra directed ''Os Fuzis'', which placed him in the forefront of the emerging Cinema Novo movement. Elis Regina
Elis Regina Carvalho Costa (March 17, 1945 – January 19, 2002), known professionally as Elis Regina (), was a Brazilian singer of MPB and jazz music. She is also the mother of the singers Maria Rita and Pedro Mariano.
