Tata Zest
Tata Zest is a compact sedan produced by Tata Motors. The car was revealed at Indian Auto Expo 2014 along with its hatchback version, the Tata Bolt. The car was launched in Indian markets on 12 August 2014. The Zest is part of Tata's ''Falcon programme'' and is based on existing platforms on the Tata Indica Vista and Indigo Manza are built. The car is built by Tata Motors at Ranjangaon factory. Variants The Zest is available in petrol and diesel versions; the Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre ''Quadrajet'' diesel engine (in two states of tune 75 PS and 90 PS) which is already being used on Indica Vista and Manza and the petrol version of is powered by a new '' Revotron'' 1.2-litre turbocharged, 90 PS engine. Ranjangaon
Ranjangaon is a village located at a distance of about 50 km from Pune. Located there is the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) Industrial area and a shrine to Ranjangaon Ganpati, Mahaganapati. The MIDC in Ranjangoan is a five star industrial area, in which several manufacturing companies including LG, Whirlpool, Carraro, Fiat, Bombay Dyeing, Maccaferri, Beakaert etc. are based. The Mahaganapati is considered to be one of the Ashtavinayaka shrines of Maharashtra, celebrating eight instances of legends related to Ganesha. The Latin New Car Assessment Programme (Latin NCAP) is an automobile safety assessment programme for Latin America and the Caribbean. Founded in 2010, it offers independent information to consumers about the safety levels of new cars in the market. Latin NCAP tests are based in international renown methodologies, with vehicles awarded with a safety rating between 0 and 5 stars, indicating the protection the cars offer to adult and child occupants. The programme started as a joint initiative and in 2014 it was established as an association under a legal entity framework. The Global New Car Assessment Programme (Global NCAP) is a project of the Towards Zero Foundation, a UK-registered charity. The programme aims to promote the sale of safer cars in developing markets by empowering consumers with objective information about the safety of vehicles. An anti-lock braking system (ABS) is a safety anti-skid braking system used on aircraft and on land vehicles, such as cars, motorcycles, trucks, and buses. ABS operates by preventing the wheels from locking up during braking, thereby maintaining tractive contact with the road surface and allowing the driver to maintain more control over the vehicle. ABS is an automated system that uses the principles of threshold braking and cadence braking, techniques which were once practiced by skillful drivers before ABS was widespread. The Tata Indica is a supermini car launched by the Indian manufacturer Tata Motors in 1998. It was the first Indian hatchback with a diesel engine. It was the first passenger hatchback from Tata Motors, with previous models being station wagons and SUVs.
