The Turkish people, or simply the Turks ( tr, Türkler), are the world's largest Turkic ethnic group; they speak various dialects of the Turkish language and form a majority in Turkey and Northern Cyprus. Tarkan Tevetoğlu (; born 17 October 1972) is a Turkish singer-songwriter. Since the early 1990s, with the successful sales of his albums, he has been a prominent figure of pop music, recognized in Turkey and worldwide. Tarkan was born and raised in Alzey, Rhineland-Palatinate. In 1986, he moved to Turkey together with his family. Tarkan, who had been interested in music since his childhood, went to high school at Karamürsel and took music lessons. In the following years, he met the owner of İstanbul Plak, Mehmet Söğütoğlu, and signed a contract to release his own album. Tarkan released his first album '' Yine Sensiz'' in late 1992 with "Kıl Oldum" being chosen as its lead single. His second and third albums, ''Aacayipsin'' and ''Ölürüm Sana'', were released in 1994 and 1998 respectively. The song "Şımarık" from ''Ölürüm Sana'' became popular in a number of countries. Tarkan Gözübüyük
Tarkan Gözübüyük (born 15 July 1970) is the bass player of the Turkish heavy metal band Mezarkabul (known as Pentagram in Turkey). Biography Born in 1970 in Erzurum, he grew up in Bursa. His first encounter with the bass guitar was aged fourteen. Studied ''jazz'' at the Faculty of Music of Bilkent University, in Ankara. Before joining Mezarkabul, he performed as a Jazz bass guitarist and played in his high-school's main orchestra. He performed on stage with Mezarkabul during most of their concerts except their debut concert in 1987. After joining Mezarkabul, he worked on several other projects as a producer. As a producer, he contributed to the albums of famous Turkish rock artists like Şebnem Ferah, Özlem Tekin, Teoman, Demir Demirkan, Ogün Sanlısoy (the former vocalist of Mezarkabul) and bands like Knight Errant, Kül, Mor ve Ötesi and Athena (band). Tarkan Mustafa
Tarkan Mustafa (born 28 August 1973) is a former British football right-sided defender or winger who is currently a coach at Benfleet. He has previously played in the Football League for both Barnet and Rushden & Diamonds. He has represented the England semi-professional side, and is of Turkish Cypriot origin. Career Mustafa was with Norwich City as a schoolboy before joining Wimbledon. He failed to make their first team and was released into non-league football. He joined Kettering Town for the 1996–97 season, leaving to join Barnet at the end of the season. His league debut came on 16 August 1997 when he played as a second-half substitute for Sam Stockley in the 2–1 defeat at home to Exeter City. Tarkan Tüzmen (born 22 May 1968), known professionally as Tüzmen, is a Turkish singer and actor, known for being a representative for Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest 1998, and being the brother of former minister for Turkey Kürşad Tüzmen.
