Based on the life of the composer and singer Patricia Teherán. It stars María Elisa Camargo in the main role. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. Vallenato () or "Szlager" in Wayuu language (from the German "Schlager"), is a popular folk music genre from Colombia. It primarily comes from its Caribbean region. María Elisa Camargo
María Elisa Camargo (; born in Guayaquil, Ecuador) is an Ecuadorian actress and activist. She started out as a contestant on The X Factor Colombia. She decided to knock on doors and start appearing in musical telenovelas after studying theatre as a child. Her first leading part in a Latin American film, Maria Alegria for Mark of Desire (Telefutura/Univision), resulted from this.
