Tarantolati Di Tricarico
Tarantolati di Tricarico are a group of Lucanian folk music. The group was founded in 1975 by Antonio Infantino, with early performances in the Rome music club Folkstudio, run by Giancarlo Cesaroni. Their lyrics in Lucanian dialect showcase the Tricarico tradition: the drums, the holy water font and the wine fiasco. Popular and pagan celebrations with the rhythm of the tamburo highlight denunciations against poverty and daily injustices to the peasant population. Over the course of their career, Tarantolati di Tricarico have participated in national and international festivals such as the De Andrè prize in Rome, Rock Against Racism in Brussels in 1978, WOMEX held in Copenhagen and the Jova Beach Party organized in Praia a Mare and Policoro in 2019. Antonio Baldassare Infantino (born 23 March 1991) is an Italian sprinter who has won two national titles at the senior level. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in 200 m. Career Born in England to Italian parents, Infantino trains at the Lee Valley Athletics Center in London, where he grew up sporting. He participated in one edition of the European Athletics Championships in 2016, one of the World Athletics Championships in Doha 2019 and one World Athletics Relays Championships in 2021. () is a group of various southern Italian folk dances originating in the regions of Calabria, Campania and Puglia. Fonit Cetra was an Italian record label, active between 1957 and 2000. History Fonit Cetra was founded in 1957 from merging two already existing labels: Cetra (acronym from Compagnia per edizioni, teatro, registrazioni ed affini), owned by RAI and previously EIAR, and (acronym from Fonodisco Italiano Trevisan), founded in 1911 in Milan. Both labels had already been popular, thanks to such artists as Nilla Pizzi, Achille Togliani, Natalino Otto and Domenico Modugno. The putipù is a musical instrument traditionally used in folk music of Southern Italy, in particular of Naples and surrounding regions. It is a friction drum, consisting of a cylindrical sound box closed at the top by a stretched membrane, with a bamboo cane attached at the center. The instrument is played by rubbing the rod with a wet hand, cloth, or sponge, that causes the membrane to vibrate. The putipu exists in several variants, differing on the materials and dimensions.
