Taraneh Alidoosti
Taraneh Alidoosti ( fa, ترانه عليدوستی; born 12 January 1984) is an Iranian actress. She is best known internationally for her role in '' The Salesman'' (2016), which won the Best Foreign Language Film Award at the 89th Academy Awards. In a poll conducted among 130 film critics by ''Sanate Cinema'' magazine, she was voted the best Iranian movie actress of the decade. In 2012, a similar poll by the ''Film'' magazine also chose her as the best actress of the decade. Recently, she has been arrested by the Islamic Republic authorities for her support of the protests against the government. Career After having attended the acting school of Amin Tarokh since 2000, she had a leading role in ''I'm Taraneh, 15'' (Rasul Sadr Ameli, 2002). Mohsen Shekari ( fa, محسن شکاری; 24 February 2000 – 8 December 2022) was a 22-year-old Iranian man who was executed by the state of Iran after being convicted of injuring a member of Iran's Basij militia and being accused of ''Moharebeh'', an Arabic word translating to "waging war against God". Shekari's death is noteworthy for being the first known state-sanctioned execution to have occurred as a direct result of the 2022 Mahsa Amini protests.
