Tapen Sen
Tapen Sen (born 2 September 1953) is a former judge of the Calcutta High Court, the Punjab & Haryana High Court, Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Jharkhand High Court and is currently holding the chair as the President of the Jharkhand State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. Early life Born into a wealthy household in Hazaribagh, he completed his schooling from St. Xavier's School and passed his Indian School Examination conducted by the University of Cambridge Local examination Syndicate, U.K. by securing first Division in 1970. He graduated from St. Columba's College, Hazaribag in 1974. He passed his LL.B. Examination from Chotanagpur Law College Ranchi in 1979. Career He joined Ranchi Bench of Patna High Court in 1980 and handled cases including writs, criminal law, civil law (common law), civil law, arbitration, matrimonial disputes and labour disputes. Hazaribag
Hazaribagh is a city and a municipal corporation in Hazaribagh district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It is the divisional headquarters of North Chotanagpur division. It is considered as a health resort and is also popular for Hazaribagh Wildlife Sanctuary ( from city). It is represented in the Indian Lok Sabha by its Member of Parliament Jayant Sinha. Etymology The name of the town 'Hazaribagh' (हज़ारीबाग़) is derived from two Persian words: ''Hazar'' (هزار) meaning 'one thousand' and ''bagh'' (باغ) meaning 'garden'. Patna High Court
The Patna High Court is the High Court of the state of Bihar. It was established on 9 February 1916 and later affiliated under the Government of India Act 1915. The court is based in Patna, the administrative capital of the state of Bihar, India. History of the court A proclamation for setting up the court was issued by the governor-general of India on 22 March 1912. The foundation-stone of the High Court Building was laid on 1 December 1913 by Viceroy and Governor-General of India Sir Charles Hardinge of Penshurst. Work commenced on 1 March 1916.
