Tao Mountain
Mount Tao (), Tao Mountain is mountain located in the north of the Wuling Farm and is one of Snow Mountains group. The mountain is ranked no No. 44 in Taiwan hiking declination scale; Borders with Ridge Jianshi, Hsinchu County, Taichung City, Heping District, Marked with Peakpoint label no. 6327. In local Atayal language the mountain is known as "B'bu Qba", meaning "fist Hill". In Chinese the name translates as "Peach" mountain, due to the view from southwest side. Climbing routes There are several climbing paths towards Tao Shan. The simplest is through the Wuling four show route, starting from Sancha camp. There is also another path that directly goes up to Tao Shan, which starts from Tao Shan waterfall park. 100 Peaks Of Taiwan
The Baiyue (Mandarin: 臺灣百岳; Pīnyīn: Táiwān bǎiyuè) is a list of one hundred mountain peaks in Taiwan. They were chosen by a group of prominent Taiwanese hikers from mountain peaks known at the time to be over 3,000 meters in height. The selection criteria included uniqueness, danger, height, beauty and prominence. Preference was also given to peaks already named and those with triangulation points. As such, "Top" does not refer strictly to the highest peaks by elevation, but rather peaks most worth hiking. The list was intended to promote enthusiasm for high-altitude hiking in Taiwan. In the resulting list of one hundred peaks, 69 peaks were in the Central Mountain Range, the largest of Taiwan's five principal mountain ranges, while 19 were in the Xueshan Range, and 12 were in the Yushan Range. Shei-Pa National Park
Shei-Pa National Park () is a national park located in the central part of Taiwan around the peaks of Hsuehshan and Dabajian Mountain, with an area of , covering the area of Hsinchu County, Miaoli County and Taichung City. High mountain ecology, geology, topography, rivers, creek valleys, rare animals and plants, and plentiful variety of forest types are some important resources for conservation. The park's headquarters was set up on 1 July 1992. The current headquarters director is Lin Ching (林青). Heping District, Taichung
Heping District () is a mountain indigenous district in eastern Taichung, Taiwan, and it is the largest district of Taichung City. It is also the largest district in Taiwan by area. It is the geographic center of Taiwan. History After the handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China in 1945, Heping was organized as a Mountain indigenous township of Taichung County. On 7 June 1973, two northeast most villages of the township were separated to form a new county-level division, which was Lishan Constructing Administrative Bureau (). However, the bureau was dissolved on 18 February 1982 and the two villages were returned to the township. On 25 December 2010, Taichung County was merged with Taichung City and Heping was upgraded to a district of the city. Hsinchu County (Wade–Giles: ''Hsin¹-chu²'') is a county in north-western Taiwan. Wuling Farm
Wuling Farm () is a tourist attraction farm in Heping District, Taichung, Taiwan. History The farm was originally established in 1963 to provide employment for retired servicemen. At the beginning of the reclamation phase, the first director of the farm led veterans in opening up land to cultivate summer highland vegetables and temperate fruit trees. He then accepted the counsel of the Agricultural Revival Development Committee in setting the farm's management policy. In 1967, the land started to be developed by reforming land, planting fruit trees and setting up the vegetable planning. The farming area was also expanded and mechanical operation methods to effectively boost the efficiency and save on manpower were also developed. In 1986, the first phase of transformation was completed. Atayal Language
The Atayal language is spoken by the Atayal people of Taiwan. Squliq and C’uli’ (Ts’ole’) are two major dialects. Mayrinax and Pa’kuali’, two subdialects of C’uli’, are unique among Atayal dialects in having male and female register distinctions in their vocabulary.
