Tangamandapio
Santiago Tangamandapio, known as Tangamandapio, is a municipality located in the northwest part of the Mexican state of Michoacán, WSW of Zamora, Michoacán, 165 km from the state capital of Morelia. The geographic coordinates are: 19° 57' North latitude and 102° 26' West longitude. Tangamandapio Municipality also includes the community of Tarécuato. Popular culture The municipality gained notoriety due to the Mexican television series ''El Chavo del Ocho'' (1973–80), in which the character Jaimito, el Cartero (portrayed by Raúl Padilla) cites Tangamandapio as his birthplace. In commemoration, the municipal government erected a statue of the character in 2012. ''El Chavo'' (English: ''The Kid''); — also known as ''El Chavo del Ocho'' (English: ''The Kid from number Eight'') during its earliest episodes —, is a Mexico, Mexican television sitcom created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños, produced by Televisa. ''El Chavo del Ocho'', often shortened to ''El Chavo'', is a Mexican television sitcom created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños. The show was based on a series of sketches performed on Gómez's eponymous sketch show, ''Chespirito'', which were first performed in 1971. Michoacán
Michoacán, formally Michoacán de Ocampo (; Purépecha: ), officially the Free and Sovereign State of Michoacán de Ocampo ( es, Estado Libre y Soberano de Michoacán de Ocampo), is one of the 32 states which comprise the Federal Entities of Mexico. Morelia
Morelia (; from 1545 to 1828 known as Valladolid) is a city and municipal seat of the municipality of Morelia in the north-central part of the state of Michoacán in central Mexico. The city is in the Guayangareo Valley and is the capital and largest city of the state. The main pre-Hispanic cultures here were the Purépecha and the Matlatzinca, but no major cities were founded in the valley during this time. The Spanish took control of the area in the 1520s.
