Tang Yaodong
Tang Yaodong (; born 17 February 1962 in Shenyang, China), is a Chinese football manager and former Chinese international footballer. He mainly played as a centre forward for Liaoning FC. Playing career Club career Tang Yaodong began his football career playing for his hometown football club Liaoning's youth team and would later graduate to the senior team in the 1983 league season. After several seasons he would later rise to prominence when he would help them win the 1985 league title. This was to be the first of many trophies that were to follow and Tang Yaodong would play an integral part in a dominant Liaoning team that also saw them win the 1990 Asian Club Championship. Despite winning another league title he would transfer to a second tier Japanese club Otsuka Pharmaceutical in the 1992 league season. 1990 FIFA World Cup Qualification
The qualification competition for the 1990 FIFA World Cup was a series of tournaments organised by the six FIFA confederations. Each confederation — the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Confederation of African Football (CAF), CONCACAF (North America), CONMEBOL (South America), Oceania Football Confederation (OFC), and UEFA (Europe) — was allocated a certain number of the 24 places at the tournament. A total of 116 teams entered the competition, with Italy, as the host, and Argentina, as the holders, qualifying for the final tournament automatically. Kallang is a planning area and residential town located in the Central Region of Singapore. Development of the town is centered around the Kallang River, the longest river in Singapore. The Singapore National Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kallang, Singapore. Opened on 30 June 2014, it was constructed on the site of the former National Stadium, which was closed in 2007 and demolished in 2010. The AFC First Round of 1990 FIFA World Cup qualification was decided by a draw which was conducted in Zürich, Switzerland on 12 December 1987. The round began on 6 January 1989 and finished on 29 July 1989. The top countries in each group at the end of the stage progressed to the final round, where the six remaining teams competed for the two places at the final tournament. Format The Maldives withdrew before the final draw, leaving 25 teams to be divided into 6 groups of 4 or 5 teams each. The teams played against each other on a home-and-away basis, except in Group 4, where the teams played against each other twice but all games were held in South Korea and Singapore. The National Stadium of Thailand ( th, สนามกีฬาแห่งชาติ or กรีฑาสถานแห่งชาติ) is a sports complex located in Pathum Wan District, Bangkok. Founded in 1937 with the construction of Supachalasai Stadium (; ), its main venue, the complex has since expanded and now consists of multiple stadia and sporting facilities. The 1990 FIFA World Cup was the 14th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial football tournament for men's senior national teams. It was held from 8 June to 8 July 1990 in Italy, the second country to host the event for a second time (the first being Mexico in 1986).
