Tampere Public Transport
Transport in Tampere consists of car, bus, light rail and commuter rail services linking the city centre of Tampere, Finland to surrounding residential areas and towns in Pirkanmaa region. The system is managed by the Tampere Regional Transport Authority (Finnish: ''Tampereen seudun joukkoliikenne''), branded as Nysse. The name originates from a local colloquialism ''nysse tulee'' (from ''nyt se tulee'', "now it's coming"), with ''nysse'' jokingly used to refer to any public transport vehicle. Fare zones are in use between areas, assigned letters A-F, each depending on distance from the downtown of Tampere. Lempäälä
Lempäälä (; Swedish also ) is a municipality in the Pirkanmaa region of Finland with inhabitants (). Lempäälä is located south of the city of Tampere. The municipality covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . The municipality center of Lempäälä is situated on an isthmus between the lakes Vanajavesi and Pyhäjärvi which are connected by the Kuokkalankoski rapids and the canal of Lempäälä that was built during the 1870s and is still in use. The first written account of the parish of Lempäälä is from 1430. The oldest building of the town is a medieval church named after Saint Birgitta and was built in 1504. The only remaining article from medieval times in the church is a wooden crucifix carved out of birch. Finnish novelist Yrjö Kokko lived in Lempäälä, and is buried in the graveyard. Artic, styled as ARTIC or ForCity Smart, is an articulated tram, articulated low-floor tram, low-floor tram model designed and manufactured by Škoda Transtech, Škoda Transtech Oy in Finland. Trams of the design are in operation in Finland, Germany and Czechia, with further large orders in these countries. The design was subsequently rebranded under the Škoda ForCity brand. Škoda Transtech Oy is Finland's major domestic manufacturer of low-floor tram and railway rolling stock. It specializes in building tram and railway vehicles for extreme climatic conditions, such as those encountered in Finland. History The company was established in 1985 when the Finnish engineering firm Rautaruukki started manufacturing freight wagons in Otanmäki and Taivalkoski. In 1991 the railway rolling stock works of Valmet (in Tampere), which specialized in the manufacture of carriages and locomotives, was merged with Transtech. Lentävänniemi
Lentävänniemi () is a district in the western part of Tampere on the shores of Lake Näsijärvi in Pirkanmaa, Finland. It belongs to the northwestern part of the city and borders the Niemi and Niemenranta borders on the southwest. There are jogging paths along the lake and its shores surrounding the apartment-based Lentävänniemi. In 2014, the population of Lentävänniemi was 4,309. Lentävänniemi originally belonged to the municipality of Ylöjärvi, from where it was transferred to the city of Tampere in the early 1950s. The first town plan for Lentävänniemi was completed in 1966, and the entire area was zoned in 1974. Most of the street names in Lentävänniemi are group names related to navigating the waters according to the location of the place (such as Airokatu, Venekatu and Majakkakatu). Hervanta
Hervanta is a large suburb, or satellite city, of Tampere in Finland, located next to Hallila some 10 km south of the city centre. Home to a population of over 26,000, Hervanta is best known for its prefabricated blocks of flats. The total number of apartments is about 11,000. Nearly a fifth of the inhabitants (some 4,500 people) are students, many of them enrolled at the Tampere University of Technology (TUT) or the Police College. The largest student housing complex is Mikontalo, in fact nearly 3% of people in Hervanta reside there. Approximately 10% of Hervanta's population is composed of foreigners from 75 different nationalities. Hervanta currently covers an area of 13.8 km² and is continuing to grow. Ylöjärvi () is a town and a municipality in the Pirkanmaa region, northwest of Tampere and north of the capital city Helsinki in Finland. The town has a population of () and covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . Ylöjärvi is mostly a rural town. It does not have a clear center; the Tampere–Vaasa highway ( E12) and the Tampere–Seinäjoki railway divide the municipality's town center into two major distinct parts: the church village and Soppeenmäki. The Vesilahti municipality headlined the case of "pink house", which is owned one of local inhabitants, Katri Hakola.
