Tambay (EP)
''Tambay'' is the second EP by the Pinoy rock band Sponge Cola, released under Universal Records on April 19, 2011. Scope After a three-year hiatus due to personal issues, on April 19, 2011, Sponge Cola released its second EP, ''Tambay''. It is only available by purchasing three 1.5 Liter Coca-Cola's at supermarkets and exchanging the receipt to a nearby redemption center. The album contains six tracks, the shortest of all albums they had made in years, but Yael says that it will contain newer and catchy tunes that will entice new listeners and as well as their long-time followers. The first three songs of the album was a precursor to the development of their fourth studio album, ''Araw Oras Tagpuan'', thus the three are also included in the said album, which was released on September 16, 2011. Sponge Cola
Sponge Cola (sometimes spelled Spongecola) is a Filipino rock band formed in 2002. The band is composed of Yael Yuzon on vocals and guitars, Gosh Dilay on bass, Armo Armovit on guitars and drummer Tedmark Cruz. One of the most popular rock bands in the Philippines, Sponge Cola has produced a number of hit songs, including "Jeepney", "KLSP", "Gemini", "Bitiw", "Tuliro", "Di Na Mababawi", "Tambay", "Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay", and "XGF". The band's debut album, ''Palabas'', was released in 2004. It was followed by ''Transit'' (2006) and ''Sponge Cola'' (2008), the latter of which was the last to feature their original drummer Chris Cantada. ''Sponge Cola'' is the self-titled third studio album by the Pinoy rock band Sponge Cola. Under Universal Records, Sponge Cola is already out in all major record bars. This was the last album to feature original drummer Chris Cantada who left the band following the release of the album due to a health problem. "Puso" is the first single from the album and is frequently heard after games during the UAAP Broadcast on Studio 23 as it was selected as the theme song for season 71. Their 2nd single "Di Na Mababawi", marked the band's departure from the standard full band rock formula, opting for simpler instrumentation. ''Araw Oras Tagpuan'' (Day Time Rendezvous) is the fourth studio album of the Pinoy rock band Sponge Cola under Universal Records. The album is composed of 12 tracks, it was released on September 16, 2011. This is the first album to feature Tmac Cruz on drums. Composition The album is mainly composed of rock ballads "Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay,""Regal," "Stargazer," "She Wants You To" and "Araw Oras Tagpuan." The album features upcoming hip hop artists Ria Redulla and Los Magno, Salamin vocalist Paolo Valenciano, also Norma Love, Iwa Motor, and Mowmow. Yael Yuzon
Ysmael "Yael" Yrastorza Yuzon (; born November 22, 1983) is a Filipino musician, best known as the vocalist and guitarist of the band Sponge Cola. Early life Ysmael Yrastorza Yuzon was born on November 22, 1983 in Manila, Philippines. His elder brother is Yan Yuzon (of the bands Pupil and Archipelago) and he has a younger sister named Ysabel. His mother Elsa is a retired flight attendant and his father Johnny, a retired accountant. He is of Basque origin, as his grandfather was an immigrant from Gipuzkoa, Spain. He is a first cousin of Filipino singer and actress Donna Cruz. Yuzon graduated from Ateneo de Manila University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.
