Tamaz Gogia
Tamaz Gogia is the current Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Abkhazia. Early life Gogia was born on 5 July 1961 in Tkvarcheli and graduated from the Krasnoyarsk Technical University. Career From October 1993 until December 1998, Gogia served as Deputy Head of Ochamchira District. In March 1998, he was appointed as the first Chairman of the newly created State Committee for State Property Management and Privatisation by President Vladislav Ardzinba. Gogia served in this post under Prime Ministers Sergei Bagapsh, Viacheslav Tsugba and Anri Jergenia, but was not in re-appointed in December 2002 in the cabinet of Gennadi Gagulia. On 16 June 2003, President Ardzinba appointed Gogia as Administration Head of Gulripshi District. Central Election Commission Of Abkhazia
The Central Election Commission of Abkhazia is the body responsible for conducting national elections and overseeing local elections in Abkhazia. It was first formed on 20 July 1991. Chairmen The first chairman of the Central Election Commission was Viacheslav Tsugba, who held the post until he became Prime Minister in 1999. On 11 October 2004, Sergei Smyr resigned during the height of the crisis following the Presidential election earlier that month. On 14 December, the newly formed Central Election Commission elected former Justice Minister Batal Tabagua as its chairman. In 2016, Tabagua was not re-appointed to the Central Election Commission, and on 23 December, former State Privatisation Committee Chairman Tamaz Gogia was elected his successor during the first meeting of the CEC in its new composition. Gennadi Gagulia
Gennadi Leonidipa Gagulia ( ab, Геннадии Леонид-иҧа Гагәлиа, ka, გენადი გაგულია; 4 January 1948 – 8 September 2018) was an Abkhazian politician who was three-time prime minister of Abkhazia and the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He served as the first prime minister of Abkhazia after the post was established by the constitution in 1995, holding it until 1997. He returned to the post in 2002 and remained for several months into 2003, and held it for a final time in 2018 until he was killed in a car crash. Sarke is a Norwegian metal band from Oslo, formed in 2008. The band has released seven studio albums and is currently signed to Norwegian record label Indie Recordings. History Sarke formed in 2008 when Thomas "Sarke" Bergli (Khold, Tulus) decided to make a solo album. Ochamchira District
Ochamchira District is a district of the partially recognised Abkhazia. Its capital is Ochamchire, the town by the same name. The district is smaller than the Ochamchire district in the de jure subdivision of Georgia, as some of its former territory is now part of Tkvarcheli District, formed by de facto Abkhaz authorities in 1995. The population of the Ochamchira district is 24,629 according to the 2003 census. Until the August 2008 Battle of the Kodori Valley, some mountainous parts of the district were still under Georgian control, as part of Upper Abkhazia. Abkhaz People
Abkhazians (russian: Абхазы), or Abkhazs ( ab, Аԥсуаа, Aṕswaа, ), are a Northwest Caucasian ethnic group, mainly living in Abkhazia, a disputed region on the northeastern coast of the Black Sea. A large Abkhaz diaspora population resides in Turkey, the origins of which lie in the population movements from the Caucasus in the late 19th century. Many Abkhaz also live in other parts of the former Soviet Union, particularly in Russia and Ukraine.
