Sarke
Sarke is a Norwegian metal band from Oslo, formed in 2008. The band has released seven studio albums and is currently signed to Norwegian record label Indie Recordings. History Sarke formed in 2008 when Thomas "Sarke" Bergli (Khold, Tulus) decided to make a solo album. In November 2008, Sarke recorded the tracks for the album with keyboardist Anders Hunstad, produced by Lars-Erik Westby. Ted "Nocturno Culto" Skjellum ( Darkthrone, ex-Satyricon) joined Sarke and provided vocals for the debut album, titled ''Vorunah'', released on 6 April 2009 via Indie Recordings. In 2009, drummer Asgeir Mickelson and guitarist Terje "Cyrus" Andersen joined the band as live members. In 2010, Steinar Gundersen joined Sarke as their second guitar player. Nocturno Culto
Ted Skjellum (born 4 March 1972), also known by the stage name Nocturno Culto, is a Norwegian musician best known as the vocalist, lead guitarist, and partial bassist (shared with Fenriz) of the influential black metal band Darkthrone. He has been with the band since 1988. He is also the vocalist of the band Sarke, and has a solo project called Gift of Gods. He currently works in Norway as a school teacher, and has a son and a daughter. He has also released a documentary film called ''The Misanthrope'' in which he deals with black metal music and life in Norway. Cyrus (musician)
Terje Andersen (born 12 May 1975), known professionally as Cyrus, is a Norwegian musician best known as the guitarist of the black metal band Susperia. He plays guitar and bass guitar. Biography Cyrus started his career in 1997 when he went playing in a band called Seven Sins with ex-Dimmu Borgir drummer Tjodalv. The band released one demo tape in that period. In 1999, they changed name to Susperia. In 2000, Cyrus went playing guitar with Satyricon for a worldwide tour. He was in Satyricon for two years as session member. In 2009, he became a session guitarist of thrash/black metal band Sarke. In 2011, with Susperia he released first Susperia's single "Nothing Remains". Cyrus recently played guitar in Susperia (as full-time member) and Sarke (as session member) and bass guitar in Dimmu Borgir (as session member). Khold
Khold is a Norwegian black metal band formed in Oslo in 2000 after the split-up of Tulus. The band plays mid-paced black metal. History Khold was formed in Oslo in 2000. A demo was recorded in late 2000, which caused Khold to be signed by Moonfog. The first Khold album, ''Masterpiss of Pain'', was released in 2001. Later in the year, Khold went touring in Europe to support the album. Khold's second album, ''Phantom'', was released in 2002. In late 2003, Khold recorded their third album '' Mørke gravers kammer'', and also made a music video for the song "Død". The album was released in 2004, through Candlelight Records. Khold went on yet another Norwegian tour in 2005, and then recorded their fourth album, '' Krek'', which was released on 10 October by Tabu Records. Maryland Deathfest
Maryland Deathfest (often abbreviated to MDF) is an annual American extreme metal festival founded in 2003 by Ryan Taylor and Evan Harting. The festival is held in Baltimore, Maryland during Memorial Day weekend, and it features many bands from around the world that vary from a wide range of Heavy metal genres, heavy metal subgenres. It is the biggest event of its kind in North America, attracting attendees from more than 40 U.S. states and 25 countries every year. More than 700 bands from more than 35 countries have played at MDF since 2003. The concept of the event is "To bring to the world the best and most extreme bands the underground has to offer. Tulus (band)
Tulus is a Norwegian black metal band formed in Oslo in 1991. Members of Tulus later went and formed the band Khold. After Khold went on hold in 2006, Blodstrup and Sarke resurrected Tulus. Tulus has a "fourth member": Blodstrup's wife, Hildr (Hilde Nymoen), who writes all lyrics for both Tulus and Khold. Asgeir Mickelson (born 30 September 1969) is a Norwegian musician, artist, photographer and music reviewer. Although primarily known as a drummer, he is also a skilled guitarist and bassist. Ragnarök Festival
Ragnarök Festival is a pagan metal festival held annually in Germany since 2004 founded by Ivo Raab. It started out as a small, one-night festival with only regional bands in the town hall of Hollfeld. In 2005 it was decided to go for a festival featuring mostly Viking and pagan metal with the booking of bands like Månegarm, Menhir, Eisregen and Equilibrium. From 2006 on the festival took place in the significantly bigger town hall of Lichtenfels, Bavaria. History The Ragnarök Metal Festival was founded by Ivo Raab in 2004. Inferno Metal Festival is an annual extreme metal festival that takes place every year during Easter in Oslo, Norway. The festival was founded by Borknagar guitarist Jens F. Ryland in cooperation with Radar Booking in 2001 and takes place at Rockefeller Music Hall. Lineups 2022 The 2022 edition will replace the 2020 edition, cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Steinar Gundersen (born 16 September 1970) is a guitarist from the small village of Oklungen, Norway. He plays live with the black metal band Satyricon as well as also having played lead guitar in the progressive metal band Spiral Architect. Darkthrone
Darkthrone is a Norwegian extreme metal band from Kolbotn, Akershus. Formed in 1986 as a death metal band named Black Death, in 1991 Darkthrone embraced a black metal style influenced by Bathory and Celtic Frost and became one of the leading bands in the Norwegian black metal scene. Their first three black metal albums—''A Blaze in the Northern Sky'' (1992), ''Under a Funeral Moon'' (1993) and ''Transilvanian Hunger'' (1994)—are sometimes dubbed the "Unholy Trinity".
