Marc Allégret (22 December 1900 – 3 November 1973) was a French screenwriter, photographer and film director. Biography Born in Basel, Basel-Stadt, Switzerland, he was the elder brother of Yves Allégret. Jean Poiret
Jean Poiret, born Jean Poiré (17 August 1926 – 14 March 1992), was a French actor, director, and screenwriter. He is primarily known as the author of the original play '' La Cage aux Folles''. Early career Poiret was born in Paris, and first rose to prominence in 1951 playing the role of Fred Transport, one of the heroes of Pierre Dac and Francis Blanche's radio series ''Malheur aux Barbus''. In 1952, he met his future co-star of ''La Cage'' Michel Serrault at the Sarah Bernhardt Theatre. Together, they starred in the sketch "Jerry Scott, Vedette Internationale". Gillian Hills (born 5 June 1944) is an English actress and singer. She first came to notice as a teenager in the 1960s in the British films '' Beat Girl'' (1960) and ''Blowup'' (1966). Cinédis was a French film distribution company active from the 1930s to the 1960s, releasing a mixture of French films and dubbed imports from aboard. The company enjoyed its strongest years during the 1950s, when French audience numbers reached their peak. It handled a number of co-productions between France and Italy. Henri Alekan
Henri Alekan (10 February 1909, Paris – 15 June 2001, Auxerre, Bourgogne) was a French cinematographer. Life Alekan was born in Montmartre in 1909. At the age of sixteen he and his brother became travelling puppeteers. A little later he started work as third assistant cameraman at the Billancourt Studios. He then spent a short time in the army, returning to Billancourt in 1931. In the late 1930s he was the camera operator to Eugene Shufftan on Marcel Carné's '' Quai des Brumes'' and ''Drôle de drame''. He was greatly influenced by Schufftan's non-naturalistic style. His first success as a director of photography was René Clément's realistic war drama ''La Bataille du Rail'' of 1946. In the same year he worked on Jean Cocteau's fable ''La Belle et la Bête''. He found himself out of sympathy with the French New Wave cinema which emerged in the late 1950s and Alekan shot some rather conventional films in Hollywood.
