Taleqan County
Taleqan County ( fa, شهرستان طالقان) is located in Alborz province, Iran. The capital of the county is Taleqan, formerly Shahrak. At the 2006 census, the county's population as a part of Savojbolagh County in Tehran province was 25,781, in 7,574 households. Retrieved 15 November 2022 It was separated from Savojbolagh County. At the 2016 census, the county's population was 16,815, in 6,354 households. The area is known for its mild, sunny summers and cold winters. Nasser al-Din Shah Qajar is quoted as saying of Taleqan weather: ''Har che dar Tehran harf ast, dar inja barf ast'' (As much as there is politics in Tehran, there is snow here). Mahmoud Taleghani
Sayyid Mahmoud Alaee Taleghani ( fa, محمود طالقانی, , also Romanized as Seyed Mahmūd Tāleqānī; 5 March 1911 – 9 September 1979) was an Iranian theologian, Muslim reformer, democracy advocate and a senior Shi'a Islamic Scholar and thinker of Iran. Taleghani was a contemporary of the Iranian Revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and a leader in his own right of the movement against Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. A founding member of the Freedom Movement of Iran, he has been described as a representative of the tendency of many "Shia clerics to blend Shia with Marxist ideals in order to compete with leftist movements for youthful supporters" during the 1960s and 1970s. Gholam Hossein Amirkhani
Gholam Hossein Amirkhani (استاد غلامحسین امیرخانی) is a Persian calligrapher, born in 1939 in Taleghan, Iran. He is the chief of Iran calligraphers council, which established in 1950. He became a member of the Iran Calligraphers Association in 1965 and was named as the master of Iranian calligraphy in 1979. Abdol Majid Taleqani
Abdol Majid Taleqani ( fa, عبدالمجید طالقانی; –1771/2) was an eminent Iranian calligrapher of the 18th century. He was the most celebrated 18th-century calligrapher of the '' Shekasteh'' form of Nastaliq, and is also credited with turning the ''Shekasteh'' script into its definitive form. Biography Taleqani was born in the Taleqan district of Qazvin (now Alborz Province) in Afsharid Iran. He pursued education at a young age in the city of Isfahan, the former royal capital of Safavid Iran. Due to Taleqani's ascetic character, he is also known as Darvish Abdol Majid ("Abdol Majid the Dervish"). He died in Isfahan in 1771/2. Darvish Khan
Darvish Khan ( fa, درویش‌خان , Gholam Hossein Darvish; 1872 – 22 November 1926) was a Persian classical musician and a tar player.http://www.hamshahrionline.ir/news.aspx?id=44944 Biography Darvish Khan was born in Tehran. His teachers included his father and Aqa Hossein-Qoli Farahani. He was a member of the Aziz Soltan music group. Later, he attended the Dar ol-Fonoon Music School. He played a concert at the Grand Hotel of Tehran with other great masters of Persian music of his time, including Aref Qazvini. Darvish left for London and Tbilisi to record. He died at the age of 54, on 22 November 1926, in an accident. His carriage was hit by a lorry automobile which was very rare at that time. Amir-Bahman Bagheri
Amir-Bahman Bagheri ( fa, امیربهمن باقری) was an Iranian military officer. Having previously served as the deputy commander of air defense unit in early 1979, he commanded the Air Force from August 1979 to July 1980. Reza Mansouri ( fa, رضا منصوری, born 1948) is an Iranian physicist and a retired professor of physics at Sharif University of Technology. Biography Reza Mansouri received his Ph.D. in 1972 from the University of Vienna under the supervision of Roman Ulrich Sexl. He also spent five years as an Assistant Professor there.
