Take This Life
''Come Clarity'' is the eighth studio album by Swedish heavy metal band In Flames, released in February 2006. It was originally going to be called ''Crawl Through Knives'' but was later changed to its current title. The album features the artwork of Derek Hess, who is popular among metal bands and has produced artwork for Converge and Sepultura amongst others. "Take This Life" is also a playable track in the video game '' Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock''. Musical style Stylistically the album borrows from the band's earlier, heavier roots, with elements of the later style still present. It features the return of the guitar harmonies and solos of the band, and can be described as a combination of their older and newer sound. In Flames
In Flames is a Swedish heavy metal band, formed by guitarist Jesper Strömblad in Gothenburg in 1990. Alongside At the Gates and Dark Tranquillity, In Flames pioneered the genres known as Swedish death metal and melodic death metal. During the band's early years, In Flames had a varying group of musicians recording with them, including many session musicians. By the release of ''Colony'' (1999), the group had established a stable lineup. Their sixth studio album ''Reroute to Remain'' (2002) showed the band moving toward a newer style of music that moved further away from melodic death metal and closer to alternative metal. This decision was criticized by fans of the group's heavier metal sound; however, it increased the band's mainstream audience and bolstered their album sales. As of 2008, In Flames has sold over two million records worldwide. Since the band's inception, In Flames have released thirteen studio albums, three EPs, and two live DVDs, their latest release bei ...

HammerFall
HammerFall is a Swedish power metal band from Gothenburg. The band was formed in 1993 by ex-Ceremonial Oath guitarist Oscar Dronjak. History Early days (1993–1996) HammerFall was formed when rhythm guitarist Oscar Dronjak quit Ceremonial Oath and invited Jesper Strömblad (from Ceremonial Oath and In Flames) to join him as a drummer in a new musical project he had been contemplating for some time. Dronjak had already composed the song "Steel Meets Steel," which was later included on HammerFall's debut album. Dronjak and Strömblad were later joined by lead guitarist Niklas Sundin, bassist Johan Larsson, and vocalist Mikael Stanne. When Niklas Sundin and Johan Larsson left HammerFall the following year, Glenn Ljungström (then guitarist of In Flames) and Fredrik Larsson (bassist of the former Swedish death metal band Dispatched), replaced them. All five members played in other bands at the time. Dronjak and Larsson played in ''Crystal Age''; Strömblad and Ljungström pl ...

Whoracle
''Whoracle'' is the third studio album by Swedish heavy metal band In Flames, released on 18 November 1997. The title of the album is a portmanteau of the English words "whore" and " oracle". Apart from "Everything Counts", which is a cover of a Depeche Mode song, all songs were composed and arranged by In Flames. The lyrics were translated by '' Dark Tranquillity'' guitarist Niklas Sundin, after Anders Fridén had written them in Swedish. ''Whoracle'' is the final album to feature Johan Larsson and Glenn Ljungström. It is also the last ''In Flames'' release with Björn Gelotte playing drums, as he permanently switched to lead guitar in future releases. Lunar Strain
''Lunar Strain'' is the debut studio album by Swedish heavy metal band In Flames, released in April 1994. The album is known for its " folky elements", with the inclusion of violins and acoustic guitars. It is the only In Flames album to not feature Anders Fridén as the vocalist and Björn Gelotte as either drummer or lead guitarist. Guitarist Jesper Strömblad plays the drums, while the vocals are sung by Dark Tranquillity vocalist Mikael Stanne, a session musician for In Flames at the time. Stanne had sung with the band previously on "Demo '93". Coincidentally, Fridén was the original vocalist for Dark Tranquillity and he effectively traded places with Stanne in 1995. As of 2010, no members who played on this album are still with the band. The songs "Behind Space" and "Clad in Shadows" were re-recorded in the album ''Colony'' (1999), featuring In Flames' future lineup; both songs were renamed with the suffix '99 at the end of the title. "Clad in Shadows '99" was also r ...

String Harmonic
Playing a string harmonic (a flageolet) is a string instrument musical technique, technique that uses the node (physics), nodes of natural harmonics of a musical string (music), string to isolate Overtone, overtones. Playing string harmonics produces high pitched tones, often compared in timbre to a whistle or flute. Overtones can be isolated "by lightly touching the string with the finger instead of pressing it down" against the fingerboard (without fingering (music), stopping). For some instruments this is a fundamental technique, such as the Chinese guqin, where it is known as ''fan yin'' (wiktionary:泛音, 泛音, lit. "floating sound"), and the Vietnamese đàn bầu. Overtones When a Strings (music), string is plucked or bowed normally, the ear hears the fundamental frequency most prominently, but the overall sound is also colored by the presence of various overtones (frequencies greater than the fundamental frequency). The fundamental frequency and its overtones are perce ...
