Kanji
are the logographic Chinese characters taken from the Chinese family of scripts, Chinese script and used in the writing of Japanese language, Japanese. They were made a major part of the Japanese writing system during the time of Old Japanese and are still used, along with the subsequently-derived syllabic scripts of ''hiragana'' and ''katakana''. Takanori Kono
(born March 7, 1969) is a former Japanese nordic combined skier who competed during the 1990s, winning at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, the Winter Olympics, and the Holmenkollen ski festival. Kono won three medals at the Winter Olympics, including two golds (3 x 10 km team: 1992, 1994) and a silver (15 km individual: 1994). He also won two gold medals in the team event at the world championships (3 x 10 km: 1993, 4 x 5 km: 1995). Kono also won the Nordic combined event at the Holmenkollen ski festival in 1993, becoming the first Asian to win at the prestigious event. Kono was ''Deputy Vice Mayor'' of the Athletes Village at the 1998 Winter Olympics. He is now coach for the Japanese Nordic combined team, a role he has had since 2006. is a Japanese football player who plays for Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo. Playing career Although considered short for a goalkeeper, standing at 178 cm, he makes up for his lack of height with superb agility and reflexes. In 2006, he was part of the Yokohama FC defense that set a J.League record when they did not concede a goal for 770 consecutive minutes, breaking Shimizu S-Pulse's 731 minutes recorded in 1993. Takanori Okoshi (大越孝敬; born September 16, 1932) is a noted Japanese professor of electrical engineering, now retired, and an amateur composer of over 30 pieces of chamber music for quartet or sextet. Okoshi was born in Tokyo, where his father was an engineering professor at the University of Tokyo. In his school days, he made radio sets and motors, and subsequently received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1955, specializing in electronics and communications. His bachelor's thesis work, "The Generation of Millimeter Waves by Harmonic Generators" was published in the journal of the Institute of Electrical Communications Engineers of Japan. is a Japanese professional shogi player, ranked 7-dan. Early life An'yōji was born in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture on August 30, 1974. In 1988, he finished runner up in the 42nd as second-grade junior high school student, and then entered the Japan Shogi Association's apprentice school at the rank of 6-kyū under the guidance of shogi professional later that year.
