Taiwan Music Institute
The Taiwan Music Institute (TMI; ) is a musical institute in Taiwan. It is headquartered at Taiwan Traditional Theatre Center. History The institute was originally established by the Council for Cultural Affairs in 1990 as the Center of Ethnic Music. In 2002, it was placed under the National Center for Traditional Arts and renamed the Ethnic Music Research Institute. In 2008, it was renamed again into Center of Taiwan Music. In May 2012, it was renamed Taiwan Music Institute when Council for Cultural Affairs was upgraded to the Ministry of Culture. Ministry Of Culture (Taiwan)
The Ministry of Culture (MOC, ) is the ministry of the Republic of China (Taiwan) that promotes cultural and creative industries. The ministry also maintains thNational Repository of Cultural Heritage History Established in 1981 by Executive Yuan, the ministry was initially called the Council for Cultural Affairs (CCA). The council was upgraded to ministerial level in May 2012 under the name Ministry of Culture. The ministry was inaugurated on 21 May 2012, in a ceremony attended by President Ma Ying-jeou, Premier Sean Chen and several prominent artists, including poet Chou Meng-tieh, film director Li Hsing and singer Lo Ta-yu. President Ma stated in a speech during the ceremony that if politics is a "fence", then culture is "the pair of wings that fly over the fence". Shilin District
Shilin District (also spelled Shihlin District, zh, t=士林區, p=Shìlínqū, poj=Sū-lîm-khu) is a district of Taipei. The central command center of the Republic of China Navy (ROCN) is located in Shilin. History The name ''Shilin'' was derived from ''Pattsiran'', the indigenous Ketagalan word for "hot springs". Taiwan Traditional Theatre Center
The Taiwan Traditional Theatre Center (TTTC; ), also known as the Xiqu Center of Taiwan, is a performance center in Shilin District, Taipei, Taiwan. National Center For Traditional Arts
The National Center for Traditional Arts (NCFTA; ) or also called Center for Traditional Arts is located by the river bank of Dongshan River in Wujie Township, Yilan County, Taiwan. The center's total area is 24 hectares. The goal of the center is overall planning, supporting the related research, promoting, preserving, and teaching the traditional arts, and also redefining, renovating, and developing the traditional arts. The park itself has become one of the most important tourist spots in Yilan. History The center was established in January 2002 as one of the agency of the Council for Cultural Affairs (CCA).
