Taito Legends Power-Up
''Taito Legends Power-Up'' is a compilation of classic Taito video games released for the PlayStation Portable system. Patterned after the ''Taito Memories'' series for PlayStation 2, ''Power-Up'' marks the first release of the franchise on a portable gaming system. The Japanese version is called ''Taito Memories Pocket'' and has sixteen games. The western versions remove Rainbow Islands Extra, and replace it with six other games, for a total of 21 games on the western compilation. Games ''Taito Legends Power-Up'' features 21 (16 in Japan) different games from Taito's back-catalog of arcade titles. Some of these games have appeared on the ''Taito Legends'' console releases, while others are exclusive to ''Power-Up''. Empire Interactive was a British video game developer and Video game publisher, publisher based in London. Founded in 1987 by Ian Higgins and Simon Jeffrey, it was acquired by Silverstar Holdings in 2006 and went out of business in 2009. Chack'n Pop
is an Platform game, platform arcade game developed and released by Taito in 1984. In the game, the player controls a small yellow creature, Chack'n, with the objective being to retrieve hearts from a cave, all while avoiding the enemies contained within them. Chack'n also has the ability to deploy bombs, which can kill said enemies, which can bring bonuses depending on if the all or none of the enemies have been killed. It is considered to be a spiritual predecessor of ''Bubble Bobble'' due to the shared characters and similar game structure. Home ports were released for the SG-1000, MSX, Nintendo Entertainment System, Family Computer, Sharp X1, NEC PC-6001 and NEC PC-8801. Rastan (video Game)
known as ''Rastan'' in North America, is a side-scrolling hack and slash video game released by Taito for arcades in 1987. It was a critical and commercial success and was ported to home platforms. Plot Taking place in a fantasy setting, the story is about Rastan who is presently a ruler of his kingdom narrating his past full of dangerous adventures and his eventual ascension to a kingship. Rastan, who back then was a barbaric knave resorted to banditry and murders to survive through hard times, came upon a chance to slay monsters and save a kingdom of Ceim from the said monsters in exchange of rich rewards. Accepting the deal, Rastan must fight hordes of enemy monsters based on mythical creatures such as chimeras and harpies. is a maze chase arcade game released in April 1988 in Japan by Taito. The object of the game is to drive your vehicle around a maze in order to clear the maze of dots while avoiding enemies. The NewZealand Story
is a platformer arcade game developed and published by Taito in 1988. The game's concept and setting were inspired by a holiday trip in New Zealand by one of the Taito programmers. The player controls , a Kiwi (bird), kiwi who must save his girlfriend and several of his other kiwi chick friends who have been kidnapped by a large blue leopard seal. While avoiding enemies, the player has to navigate a scrolling maze-like level, at the end of which they release one of Tiki's kiwi chick friends trapped in a cage. ''Lunar Rescue'' (ルーナー・ レスキユー Runā Resukyū) is an arcade game released by Taito in November 1979. The gameplay has some resemblance to both Taito's own 1978 hit ''Space Invaders'' and Atari, Inc.'s ''Lunar Lander'' (released several months earlier). Gameplay The player's ship (red) above a 150 point landing site. The game starts with the player's spacecraft docked inside the mothership at the top of the screen. Below the mothership is an asteroid field and below that, the surface of the moon. There are three platforms which can be landed on and six stranded astronauts that need rescuing.
