Tadmuštum
Tadmuštum or Dadamušda was a Mesopotamian goddess associated with the underworld. She was regarded as the daughter of Nergal, and in known texts often appears in association with his main cult center, Kutha. Name Attested spellings of Tadmuštum's name in cuneiform include '' dTá-ad-muš-tum'' (in an offering list from the Ur III period), ''dTá-ad-mu-uš-tum'' (in the god list ''An = Anum''), ''dTá-da-muš-da'' (in a late list of dyads of goddesses), ''dTa-ad-muš-tum'' (in the text ''Silbenvokabular A''), and according to Manfred Krebernik possibly ''dTaš-mu-uš-tum'' (in the Nippur god list). However, according to Jeremiah Peterson the last writing, which he renders as dUR-''mu-uš-(t)um'', stands for the deity dUR-''ma-šum'' (or dUR-''maš''), the sukkal of Gula known from the Weidner god list and ''An = Anum''. Šubula
Šubula (Shubula) was a Mesopotamian god. He was associated with the underworld, and commonly appears in association with Nergal, Ishum, Laṣ and other deities of similar character. He was worshiped in small settlements such as Ṣupur-Šubula and Lagaba, likely located in the proximity of Kutha, but also in Susa and Uruk. Character Šubula was a minor god. It is assumed that the name is etymologically connected with the Akkadian word ''ābalu(m)'', "to dry" or "to be dry." A less likely proposal instead derives it from ''wābalu(m)'', "to carry." He was most likely associated with the underworld. In known sources he is often mentioned alongside other gods of the underworld. In an offering list from Puzrish-Dagan from the Ur III period concerned with rites of Kutha he appears alongside Tadmuštum, Laṣ and Meslamtaea. Dadmiš
Dadmiš ( uga, 𐎄𐎄𐎎𐎌, ''ddmš'') or Tadmiš (''dta-ad-mi-iš'') was a goddess worshipped in Ugarit. She is attested in texts written both in Ugaritic and in Hurrian. Her origin and functions remain unknown. Identification The earliest researchers did not yet recognize Dadmiš as a separate deity, and her name was considered to be an epithet of Resheph, ''ršp ddm''. Due to the trend in early scholarship to look for Greek explanations for terms present in Ugaritic texts it was assumed that this alleged deity was analogous to Apollo Didymaeus, similar to how the name Niqmaddu (''nqmd'', "Hadad the avenger") was misinterpreted as Nikomedes and the place name Yman, referring to an area near the kingdom of Amurru known also from Assyrian and Hebrew sources, as Ionia. Mesopotamian Goddess
Deities in ancient Mesopotamia were almost exclusively anthropomorphic. They were thought to possess extraordinary powers and were often envisioned as being of tremendous physical size. The deities typically wore ''melam'', an ambiguous substance which "covered them in terrifying splendor" and which could also be worn by heroes, kings, giants, and even demons. Ugaritic Goddess
The Ugaritic pantheon included deities of local origin, many of whom are also known from Eblaite sources from the third millennium BCE or Amorite ones from the early second millennium BCE, as well as Hurrian and Mesopotamian ones. The Ugaritic pantheon is considered better documented than other aspects of Ugaritic religion, such as the life of the clergy or the social context of various offerings. Laṣ
Laṣ (''dLa-aṣ''), also transcribed Laz, was a Mesopotamian goddess who was commonly regarded as the wife of Nergal, a god associated with war and the underworld. Instances of both conflation and coexistence of her and another goddess this position was attributed to, Mammitum, are attested in known sources. Name and character The best attested spelling of the name is ''dLa-aṣ''. While a single instance of ''dLa-a-aṣ'' is known from a copy of the Mesopotamian Weidner god list from Ugarit, it is not sufficient evidence to support the conclusion that it was pronounced with a long vowel, and the additional sign might be a scribal mistake. Nergal
Nergal ( Sumerian: d''KIŠ.UNU'' or ; ; Aramaic: ܢܸܪܓܲܠ; la, Nirgal) was a Mesopotamian god worshiped through all periods of Mesopotamian history, from Early Dynastic to Neo-Babylonian times, with a few attestations under indicating his cult survived into the period of Achaemenid domination. Kanisurra
Kanisurra (also Gansurra, Ganisurra) was a Mesopotamian goddess who belonged to the entourage of Nanaya. Much about her character remains poorly understood, though it is known she was associated with love. Her name might be derived from the word ''ganzer'', referring to the underworld or to its entrance. In addition to Nanaya, she could be associated with deities such as Gazbaba, Ishara and Uṣur-amāssu. Gazbaba
Gazbaba, also known as Kazbaba or Kazba, was a Mesopotamian goddess closely associated with Inanna, Nanaya and Kanisurra. Like them, she was connected with love and eroticism. Name and character Gazbaba's name is most likely derived from the Akkadian word ''kazbu'', which can be translated as "sexual attraction." A form ending in the hypocoristic suffix ''-īya/-āya/-ūya'', ''dKa-az-ba-a-a'', is also attested, possibly representing an attempt at making the name more similar to Nanaya's, or resulting from confusion with a similar personal name. Kutha, Cuthah, Cuth or Cutha ( ar, كُوثَا, Sumerian: Gudua), modern Tell Ibrahim ( ar, تَلّ إِبْرَاهِيم), formerly known as Kutha Rabba ( ar, كُوثَىٰ رَبَّا), is an archaeological site in Babil Governorate, Iraq. Zariqum
Zariqum or Zarriqum was a Sumerian governor (''šakkanakkum'') of the city of Assur under the Third Dynasty of Ur, attested there between the 44th year of Shulgi () and the 5th year of Amar-Sin ().
