Tacloban Fighting Warays
The Tacloban Fighting Warays are a professional women's volleyball team in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). The team, sponsored by Chooks-to-Go, debuted in the 2018 PVL Reinforced Conference. Premier Volleyball League
The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a women's professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The league began in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League, a women's collegiate league. Since 2011, the league became open to participation of corporate clubs and other non-collegiate teams. The Spikers' Turf has served as the men's counterpart of the league. History Shakey's V-League (2004–2016) The Premier Volleyball League was established in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. led by Jun Bernardino, Ricky Palou, Moying Martelino, and Rhea Navarro who were businessmen previously known for being men's basketball patrons. 2018 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference
The 2018 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference is the sixth conference of the Premier Volleyball League (''33rd conference of the former Shakey's V-League''). The conference started on September 22, 2018 at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines. Teams played a double-round robin elimination round to determine the final four teams that will advance to the semifinals. Chooks-to-Go is a chain of stores owned by Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. (BAVI), a privately owned company operating in the Philippines. It offers roast chicken and processed meats for off-premises consumption. Chooks-to-Go currently has close to a thousand outlets. 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference
The 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference was the fourth conference of the Premier Volleyball League (31st conference of the former Shakey's V-League). Conference will start on April 27, 2018 with a Grand Fans Day at the Trinoma Activity Center, Quezon City, 9 days before its opening ceremonies and games on May 6, 2018 at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan City, Philippines. PLDT returns as PayMaya after two years of absence in the league and newcomer teams, Tacloban Fighting Warays and Petro Gazz Angels are expected to join the league. Teams will play a single round robin in the preliminary round. The top two teams (ranks 1 and 2) after the preliminary round will automatically enter the semifinals round. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. Patcharee Sangmuang ( th, พัชรี แสงเมือง; ; born 20 March 1978, Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand) is the captain of the Thai women's national volleyball team, who made her international debut in the 13th Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand. ABS-CBN Sports
ABS-CBN Sports was a sports division of the Philippine media conglomerate ABS-CBN, which aired some of the notable sporting events in the Philippines. Jovielyn Grace Prado
Jovielyn Grace Prado (born July 30, 1996) is a Filipino volleyball player. She is currently playing as an Outside Hitter for the PLDT High Speed Hitters in the Premier Volleyball League. Career Prado played for the Arellano Chiefs as an Outside Hitter in the NCAA. In 2017, she played for the United Volleyball Club in Philippine Superliga. She also played for the Power Smashers in the Premier Volleyball League where she became the captain of the team.
