Tacloban City Convention Center
The Tacloban City Convention Center, also known as the Tacloban Astrodome or the Tacloban City Coliseum, is an indoor arena located in Tacloban, Philippines. It has a seating capacity of 4,500. The facility which had a soft opening in June 2006, was built at a cost of 200 million pesos. It is used primarily for basketball, concerts, regional events and other conventions. It is the second-largest indoor arena in the Eastern Visayas region, after the Ormoc Superdome in Ormoc. Usage The arena is used for some out-of-town games of the Philippine Basketball Association. Tacloban ( ; ), officially the City of Tacloban ( war, Syudad han Tacloban; fil, Lungsod ng Tacloban), is a first class highly urbanized city in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines. The city is autonomous from the province of Leyte, although it serves as its provincial capital. Typhoon Haiyan, known in the Philippines as Super Typhoon Yolanda, was one of the most powerful tropical cyclones ever recorded. On making landfall, Haiyan devastated portions of Southeast Asia, particularly the Philippines.
