Discovery History
Discovery History is a British channel with programming about history from Warner Bros. Discovery. History The channel was initially known as the Discovery Civilisation Channel, later dropping 'Channel' from the name, and was devoted to documentaries regarding history and civilizations, historic, ancient or present, launched on Sky Digital on 1 October 1998. On 1 November 2007, Discovery Civilisation was re-branded as Discovery Knowledge, by Heavenly. The new channel was still focused on history and natural history, but the schedule now included programming on engineering, crime and technology. After just over three years, on 7 November 2010, Discovery Knowledge was rebranded as Discovery History. Rai Storia ( English: Rai History) is an Italian television channel owned by Rai Cultura, an arm of broadcaster RAI available on digital terrestrial television in Italy. Launched on 17 June 2002 as Rai Edu 2, the channel adopted its current name on 2 February 2009 and it is broadcast in Italy on DTT channel 54 on mux ''Rai 4''. In May 2016 the channel stopped broadcasting advertisements. Since then it is funded solely by the license fee. Viasat History is a pay television channel owned by the Swedish media company, Viasat World LTD. The channel broadcasts history series from around the world with a focus on the ancient world, historical drama, royal history, travel history and religious history. Viasat History is a 24-hour channel, broadcasting in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States. Histoire TV is a French television channel, owned by Groupe TF1. The network mainly carries programming about historical events. History Histoire was launched on 14 July 1997 by an alliance of public holdings (France Télévisions, INA and La Sept-Arte) and private shareholders ( Pathé, Wanadoo and Suez). In June 2004, the Groupe TF1 acquired fully Histoire, privatizing it. On 2 January 2012, the TF1 pay-TV channels joined ISP optional packages. Previously, Histoire was exclusively available on TPS, Canalsat and for 0.49€ on Free. In December 2012, Discovery Communications acquired 20% of TF1 pay-TV thematic channels for €170 million for Eurosport and €14 million for Ushuaïa TV, Histoire, Stylia and TV Breizh. Television returned to Poland in 1952 and for several decades was controlled by the communist government. Colour television was introduced in Poland in 1971. 576i is a standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Because of its close association with the legacy color encoding systems, it is often referred to as PAL, PAL/ SECAM or SECAM when compared to its 60 Hz (typically, see PAL-M) NTSC-colour-encoded counterpart, 480i. The ''576'' identifies a vertical resolution of 576 lines, and the ''i'' identifies it as an interlaced resolution. TVP Polonia
TVP Polonia (formerly known as TV Polonia) is the international channel of the Telewizja Polska (TVP). The channel is co-funded by the TVP and the Polish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and broadcasts from the TVP headquarters in Warsaw. TVP Polonia is targeted at Polish-speaking audiences outside Poland, and it broadcasts many of the shows also broadcast by TVP's domestic channels in addition to news from Polonia/ Polish communities around the world.
