TV1000 was a brand of premium TV channels operated by Viasat World and Viaplay Group (previously by Modern Times Group). Viasat World
Viasat was a satellite and pay television brand, co-owned by the Swedish media group Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) in the Nordic countries, Antenna Group in Hungary, and by Viasat World internationally. Founded in Sweden in 1991, Viasat has previously been owned by Modern Times Group. The channels of both companies were broadcast from London. In 2020 Viasat formed a joint venture with Canal Digital to form the company Allente. The merger was completed on April 13, 2021. Satellite platforms The Viasat signals can be received from the Astra 4A and SES-5 satellites at 4.8°E with any DVB-S receiver equipped with a NDS VideoGuard descrambling module. Viasat does not have a platform of their own outside the Nordic and Baltic countries, so they have to rely on third party distributors in Eastern and Central Europe. Viaplay Group AB, formerly known as Nordic Entertainment Group AB (NENT Group), is a Swedish media and entertainment company headquartered in Stockholm. V Film
V Film is a group of premium movie channels broadcasting in the Nordic countries owned by Viaplay Group. History Viasat Film was started by Kinnevik on 27 August 1989 as TV1000, using one of the sixteen transponders on Astra 1A, the very first Astra satellite. In June 1991 TV1000 announced that they channel would merge with another pay movie channel called SF Succé. This gave the channel a content boost with several Swedish films. It also made TV1000 more able to compete with FilmNet which was the leading premium channel at the time. The merger took place on 1 September 1991. The name of the merged channel was initially announced to be "TV1000 Succékanalen", although this was not used on air. As TV1000 was much larger than SF Succé, Kinnevik would own 75 percent of the new channel, while SF Succé's owners only owned 25 percent. V Series (Swedish TV Channel)
V Series is a television channel broadcasting TV series. The channel launched on 16 February 2009 as TV1000 Drama. The same day, all TV1000 channels in the Nordic countries got new logos and graphics. Unlike the other TV1000 channels, which were broadcasting round-the-clock, TV1000 Drama would only broadcast between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. It timeshared with Jetix and replaced the Travel Channel on Viasat's satellite platform. The channel was rebranded as Viasat Film Drama on 3 March 2012 and timeshifts with Disney Junior from 7pm to 6am. In 2015, the channel was rebranded as Viasat Series, the channel also replaced Viasat Crime. Viasat Film Drama offers various genres of dramas, including costume dramas, life stories, crime and romance. Viasat Film HD is a Pay television, pay-television channel which is owned by Viasat (Nordic television service), Viasat. The channel shows the same films as Viasat Film, but in High-definition television, HD-quality. TV1000 Russkoe Kino (also known as ''TV1000 Russian Kino'', ''ТВ1000 Русское Кино'') is a television channel broadcasting Russian language movies owned by Viasat World Ltd. The channel is available in Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States The channel launched on October 1, 2005, in the Baltics, Russia, Ukraine, and other CIS states, broadcasting from both the Viasat platform in the Baltics and cable systems in the region. It was the fifth pay channel from Viasat in the region after TV1000 East, Viasat Explorer, Viasat History and Viasat Sport.
