''TNGHT'' is the self-titled debut extended play of the duo TNGHT, the collaboration of producers Hudson Mohawke and Lunice. Recorded in a London studio in a couple of nights, it was released on the labels Warp and LuckyMe on July 23, 2012. ''TNGHT'' received critical acclaim. It landed on numerous year-end lists of publications including ''Pitchfork Media''. It was also on the American '' Billboard'' charts, debuting at number 180 on the ''Billboard'' 200. TNGHT is a musical duo consisting of Scottish producer Hudson Mohawke and Canadian producer Lunice, formed in 2011. The duo released their self-titled debut EP to positive reviews in 2012. They announced an indefinite hiatus in late 2013, until their return in September 2019. Biography Hudson Mohawke (Ross Birchard) and Lunice (Lunice Fermin Pierre II) originally met in 2008, during the first LuckyMe Records tour of North America, when Mohawke performed at the Pop Montreal festival and Lunice played support. Future Garage
Future garage is a genre of electronic music that incorporates a variety of influences from UK garage and softer elements from 2-step garage, leading to an off-kilter rhythmic style. Characteristic sounds are pitched vocal chops, warm filtered reese basses, dark atmospheres (including synth pads, field recordings and other atmospheric sounds) and vinyl crackle. Wonky (also known as purple sound or aquacrunk) is a subgenre of electronic music known primarily for its off-kilter or “unstable” beats, as well as its eclectic, colorful blend of genres including hip-hop, electro-funk, 8-bit music, 8-bit, jazz fusion, glitch music, glitch, and crunk. Trap Music (hip Hop)
Trap is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in the Southern United States during the 1990s. The genre gets its name from the Atlanta slang word "trap", a house used exclusively to sell drugs. Trap music uses synthesized drums and is characterized by complex hi-hat patterns, tuned kick drums with a long decay (originally from the Roland TR-808 drum machine), and lyrical content that often focuses on drug use and urban violence.
