TAOM
Texas Association of Magicians (also known simply as TAOM) is an American organization which hosts magic conventions each year, in different locations around Texas each Labor Day weekend. It started in 1944, with picnics hosted by an Austin magician named Herman Yerger, and then the formal TAOM organization was formed on September 1, 1946. It grew over the years to become one of the major gatherings of magicians in the United States, on par with such events as Abbott's Get Together and the Midwest Magic Jubilee, with a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and competitions. Magic Conventions
A magic convention is a gathering of professional magicians, magical hobbyists, dealers, collectors of magical apparatus, books and ephemera, and other students of the art of magic. It provides a place for lectures of subjects related to the craft, as well as a series of sample performances of noted or innovative techniques. Many conventions also hold competitions to judge who excels at a particular style, and present awards in various categories such as sleight of hand, card tricks, mentalism, and stage illusions. Frisco, Texas
Frisco is a city in Collin and Denton counties in the U.S. state of Texas. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and about from both Dallas Love Field and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Its population was 200,509 at the 2020 U.S. census. Frisco was the fastest-growing city in the United States in 2017, and also from 2000 to 2009. In the late 1990s, the northern DFW suburban development tide hit the northern border of Plano and spilled into Frisco, sparking rapid growth into the 2000s. Abilene ( ) is a city in Taylor and Jones Counties in Texas, United States. Its population was 125,182 at the 2020 census, making it the 27th-most populous city in the state of Texas.
