Těšínsko (magazine)
''Těšínsko'' (meaning the "Cieszyn Silesia") is a regional magazine, published originally quarterly, currently twice a year by the Muzeum Těšínska in Český Těšín, Czech Republic. It focuses on the history and culture of the Czech part of Cieszyn Silesia. History and profile The first issue appeared in November 1957 and since then the magazine appears in black and white A4 format. The publisher is Muzeum Těšínska. In the 1990s more Polish authors contributed to the magazine, as a consequence the prestige of the magazine grown and it gained more readers.Ondřeka 2007, 9. Mass is an intrinsic property of a body. It was traditionally believed to be related to the quantity of matter in a physical body, until the discovery of the atom and particle physics. It was found that different atoms and different elementary particles, theoretically with the same amount of matter, have nonetheless different masses. Stanisław Zahradnik
Stanisław Zahradnik (26 April 1932 – 5 November 2023) was a Polish Czech historian. He specialised in the history of Cieszyn Silesia and the region of Trans-Olza. Biography Zahradnik was born on 26 April 1932 in Kojkovice. He graduated from the Juliusz Słowacki Polish Gymnasium in Český Těšín in 1951. Two years later he graduated from the Faculty of History at the Charles University in Prague. In 1968 he earned his doctorate at the same university. Afterwards he moved back to his native Třinec where he was employed as the head of the archive of the Třinec Iron and Steel Works Třinec Iron and Steel Works (TŽ) ( cs, Třinecké železárny, pl, Huta trzyniecka) is a producer of long rolled steel products in Třinec, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. Idzi Jan Panic (born 1952 in Wodzisław Śląski) is Polish historian, professor at the University of Silesia. He is specializing in history of Cieszyn Silesia and medieval Poland. Muzeum Těšínska ( pl, Muzeum Ziemi Cieszyńskiej, en, Museum of Cieszyn Silesia) is a regional museum in Český Těšín, Czech Republic. Óndra Łysohorsky
Óndra Łysohorsky was the pseudonym of Ervín Goj (6 July 1905 – 19 December 1989), a Czech poet of Silesian origin and awareness. He is known for his works written in Lach language (intermediate dialect between Czech and Polish) which was systematized and practically created as a literary language by him. He also wrote in German (Friedrich Hölderlin was a large influence on his writing). Life Born in Frýdek, Austrian Silesia, within Austria-Hungary, Goj began writing his poems around 1926, eventually making a name for himself in the 1930s shortly after adopting the Łysohorsky pseudonym. Following the Munich Conference, Łysohorsky quit his teaching post rather than collaborate with the Nazis. Upon German occupation, he fled to Poland, where he joined a Czechoslovak military force shortly before the outbreak of World War II in 1939.
